Jaffer admitted he was nervous going into the theater for the first screening. He told Domingo, “I was so nervous going into that theater, but good nerves. I wasn’t really watching the movie. I was watching all the people there, observing the scenes to see each moment if it landed. Everything did.

” He found the experience surreal. He also shared that he’s been sneaking into theaters to watch the film in different formats. IMAX for DX. He said seeing it in 4DX for the first time was wild. Yes. I’m blowing up the spot right now. You sneak sneak into the back and then you watch the different formats, right? Yeah. Different.

I choose different seats with each but I did sneak into a couple theaters. I saw I saw it in IMAX. I saw it in in 40X, which was my first time seeing a film in I don’t even know what that is. 40s. Your your seats like moving flashing lights like in in the parts when we’re in Gary. I’m too old for that. [laughter] Fake snow coming down when they’re shooting in Gary.

Yes. Are you kidding me? I swear it was like Wait, this is It kind of takes you out of that exist. That’s a lot. It is a lot. It was my first time. I prefer an IMAX or do Then Domingo asked the question that changed everything. Who gave Jaffer the most meaningful reaction? Jaffer didn’t hesitate.

I always have to say my grandmother. That’s the most meaningful person I can have a reaction from. He got emotional talking about her words. How proud she was, he said. Just to hear her words saying how proud she was, it’s still I can get emotional just talking about it. He almost couldn’t finish the sentence. Know that your family has seen the film.

Um, what has been the most beautiful reaction? His grandma, right? That’s tough. But I always have to say my grandma. That’s the most meaningful uh person I can have a reaction. And to get the love I got from her after she saw it and just to hear her words say how proud she was. Love that. Love that. Love that.

It’s still I I I can get emotional just just so that’s so sweet. Oh my goodness. Domingo asked Jaffer for his favorite memory with his uncle. Jaffer shared a story from Neverland that revealed everything about Michael Jackson’s childlike spirit. He was a kid and he asked his uncle if he could have candy. Michael said, “Sure, you can even take the whole candy machine.

” Jaffer took him at his word. He went home with the whole machine. That story, the candy machine, is who Michael was. He never said no to a child’s joy. That candy machine story says everything about his uncle. What’s your favorite memory of your uncle? That’s it would probably be [snorts] I was I was in the kitchen and they’re cooking a breakfast and I wasn’t craving breakfast. I wanted candy.

And I remember my my uncle Michael coming out of uh the doorway to come into to sit down to have breakfast. And I I was saying, “Can I have candy? Can I Is it like I can get some candy?” And and he said, “Oh, of course. Of of course you can you could take the whole the whole candy machine.

” [laughter] You said the whole candy machine. Actually, it’s like it’s big. I actually took the whole candy machine home. That’s a good uncle. Really? Yeah. When Domingo asked if he’d continue acting, Jaffer didn’t hesitate. That’s really where my mind and heart is. He wants to portray characters that you’ll never expect me to.

But acting wasn’t always his goal. He wanted to be a golfer. He played sports, did music, producing, composing, but he’d never made a film. Now he wants to challenge himself with unexpected roles. The shy kid who only joined drama club because his friends forced him is now a committed actor. He’s ready for characters that will surprise everyone.

Some more. What is he going to do? What roles? That’s that’s really where my my mind and heart is is to to continue acting to to portray characters that you would never expect from me. That’s something I I I love that completely. Are there some role models that you have in this field? I’m not asking you to tell me.

[laughter] Are there any role models that you have or people like careers that you like you aspire to have like you know? Ooh yeah, there’s there’s very few. I’m very selective with uh Coleman Domingo. That’s a great answer. Domingo and Jaffer also took a moment to celebrate the film’s massive success.

Michael has now surpassed $1 billion at the global box office, becoming the highest grossing biopic of all time. It beat Bohemian Raps City and Oppenheimer. For a firsttime actor to be at the center of that achievement is almost unheard of, but Jaffer stayed humble. He called the experience surreal and focused on how proud his family was.

The film is now the highest grossing biopic ever made. Michael Movie has officially hit $1 billion. We did it. The first and only biopic in history to make that much money. The first one to be a billion. Jaffer didn’t just make an impression with his words. He also made one with his style.
