Many years ago in a quiet village of Olo, there lived a young man named Obina. Obina was very handsome and also very ambitious. He believed that one day he would leave the village and go to the city and make big money. And he worked so hard towards that. But his parents were worried because Obina was the only son and the only child he gave birth to.

He had always discussed his plans with his parents and they were worried for him that he would leave and not come back at the appropriate time to get married. So one evening his parents called him. They all sat at the city room and they said to him that every man must have a wife and he must have one before he leaves for the city.

They cannot allow him to travel out and go to the city without having a wife that would give them children. Obina thought about all of this and decided to listen to his parents. But he doesn’t have anyone in mind. So the mother introduced him to a lady named Sharon. Sharon was just a simple farmer’s daughter. She didn’t come from a rich family.

She came from a family who was still struggling to survive as they matchmake them. Obina fell in love with Sharon and that was how the two of them got married. At first things were good. Sharon cooked for Obina, washed his clothes. She attended to all of Obinad’s needs. If they are going to church, they are working together.

Sharon loved Obina too and she respected him as her husband. And that was how he got lucky. And one morning he got letter from one of the companies he applied for a job. And it turns out Obina had been offered a job in Lagos. It was a junior office job and it promised better things. The salary was good, free accommodation and a car inclusive. Everybody was so happy. Obina’s parents were the happiest.

Fortunately, with one or two connections, he was able to find out where Sharon stays. He went to beg her.
