She MISTAKELY Overheard Her HUSBAND’S Conversation About SENDING A huge..#story #folklore #tales – Ty
Almost everybody in Abuja knew the name Zainab. First, if you scroll past her page even once, you will remember it. Her beautiful bright kitchen, perfect lighting, and always a plate of food arranged like art. Her page was called Glow with Z. She had over 50,000 people following her both on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
They watched her do her workout every morning. They watched her do her skin care routine. They watched her cook small colorful meals and always talk about discipline like it was a religion. Z had a recurring Sunday talk, Real Talk with Z, where she sat cross-legged on a rug, and she would start asking questions from women all over the country ; [snorts] ; about how to build a life that grew from the inside out.
“People ask me how I stayed so disciplined.” Zainab said in one of her videos smiling. Smiling the kind of smile she has practiced many times in the mirror. The truth was simple. “When your home is peaceful, your body follows. Peace is the real diet.” Her followers believed her. Why would they not? She looked happy.
She looked glowing. She looked like a woman who had figured something out that the rest of the world was still struggling to learn. Women, a lot of them, in her comment section called her inspiration. But, that was not entirely Zainab’s life. Her home had a secret. Zainab was married to a businessman named Yusuf, and they had been married for 5 good years.
In the beginning of their marriage, the love was flowing. Things felt different. Generous, easy, full of surprises. Yusuf used to bring home suya almost every Friday night. They would sit as a family, put on a very romantic movie. They would sat enjoying their suya as they are watching their movie. ; ; Easy gifts? Yusuf used to flaunt gifts up and down in their early marriage.
And that made Zainab to think that she has found one of the rare ones in just one man. But, somewhere around 3 years after marriage, those generosity started shrinking slowly. Zainab didn’t notice at first because Yusuf was really good. He’s good in giving excuses and he’s good in covering up. ; ; The gifts stopped coming.
Then suya night stopped. And every time Zainab asked, Yusuf always has an answer. Then, one faithful evening, Yusuf came back home and called her. The two of them sat down and Yusuf told her that he wouldn’t want her to work. That she can do any business she wants from home, but not a shop business or an office business.
Zainab was confused. Babe, I’ve never told you I want to do an office business. I always told you I want to do content creating. My friend is doing it and she’s making a lot of money from it. I just have to be consistent. Yusuf stared at her. Oh, content creating. Where you go and be lying the hell out of yourself.
All these things will make you to be living a fake life. But that’s not my business, too. I just want to let you know. If you want to do content creating, as far as you’re not leaving this house, you’re free to do it. And from today onwards, certain things need be changed in the house. The way we stock the house with food that sometimes gets spoiled.
The way you spend money recklessly. You know you’re not the one providing, so we have to cut down on some things. We have a future ahead of us. We have just one child, only one. And I need more children. And for that to happen, we need to save for the future. Zainab understood and agreed. She didn’t think much about it.
And that was how Yusuf took control of every single naira that entered the house. In her caption on her social media handles, she called her husband the calmest, most generous man I know. But in real life, Yusuf controlled every money that entered the house, even ordinary provision money. Foodstuff money, she would calculate.
She could not simply go to the market and buy what the family needs. She had to ask. She had to explain. She had to show receipts before he could release money. And sometimes, the amount changed depending on his mood. Sometimes, he would give enough. Sometimes, he would barely give out one quarter of what is actually needed at home.
Yet, Zainab continued selling lies to social media in the name of weight loss journey, not knowing she was starving in her own home. And anytime she tries to complain to Yusuf, Yusuf would always find a way to cover up. Things are hard. We need to save more. The expenses are much. The house rent, their daughter’s school fees, the feeding, everything is on him.
He would always find a way to put blame on Zainab for not working and glory to himself for being the only one providing. And Zainab had no way to complain anymore. She just had to endure. Then, one faithful evening, he came back very late. Zainab bothered to ask him where he went and why he wasn’t picking up his calls.
But, Yusuf was so tired to answer. Immediately he entered, he dropped everything on the bed, his bags, his clothes, his phone, and immediately entered the bathroom to take a shower. He was taking that shower when Zainab walked past the bedroom. And she noticed that a message popped on Yusuf’s phone. A normal Zainab should have just looked away, but she came back and checked.
And what she saw made her stomach turn cold. A transfer? A whopping 200,000 naira sent out just 3 days ago. The same day that same day, Zainab approached Yusuf. There is no single protein in the house, no meat, no egg, and she needed to get some because of their child that is still growing. But, Yusuf always find a way to turn the table around.
She and her daughter had eaten plain rice consistently for the past 5 days. While Yusuf had over 200,000 sent to someone. Even though Zainab did not see the name of the person the money was sent to, she was really angry. What she saw was only debit alert and half of the person’s name. She was still holding the phone when Yusuf stepped out of the bathroom and was shocked to see her holding his phone.
Immediately he turned the table around. He became calm. He went straight to Zainab and grabbed the phone from her gently and put it on the bed. Why did you take my phone? Has it gotten to the point that you’ll be searching my phone? Zainab then asked him, “Is that supposed to be an to what I just saw? He transferred a whopping 200,000 naira to someone that the name starts with H A.
Who is that? And that same day, I begged you for money to put protein in the house. We barely had enough to feed Yusuf. You’ve changed. Uh-huh. The money is for a business. What do you mean I’ve changed? I told you I don’t have money because that money was for business. I cannot give you my business money to eat it, put it in your tummy, and go and push it out in the toilet.
It’s not possible. I also noticed that everything is teaching you discipline. I love the fact that you not having enough, you are learning how to manage. It is good. Because if you get everything freely, I don’t think you would appreciate what you have. A woman needs scarcity to value abundance.
I’m simply training you. The way you train your body in the gym, the way you showcase the whole world that you are the best. After one child, you are looking snatched, beautiful, and dieting, Madam dieter. Sinab looked at him from head to toe up to three times. She didn’t even know when tears started flowing down her cheek. Yusuf.
So, you are telling me that you’re starving me and your daughter because of what? Because I put out fitness coaching outside. Do you know what I do? How it has helped a lot of people. That same thing you are mocking is what brought in the food your daughter used to go to school every morning with protein. I’ve not been monetizing any of my channels.
But at least people used to gift me. That gifting is why I am not entirely broke. But the gifting comes once in a while. But you said you will provide for your family. Why are you doing this, Yusuf? Even if you don’t want me to eat your money, what about our child? Why are you putting her into something that does not concern her? She need enough protein to grow.
What is this? Oh, you are also trying to use our daughter to blackmail me? Zinab, wake up. You can’t. As far as that child in there is our daughter, a girl a girl like you know, uh-huh. She had to suffer the same fate like you to learn discipline because one day she will leave this house and go and live in a husband’s house.
So, let her learn discipline early. I think it’s time you stop that your weight loss nonsense and come and thicken and give me a son. At least if I’m seeing a boy, I’ll be proud to spend money on you. In fact, I don’t need to sugarcoat my words. Zinab, it is time for us to make another baby. Simple and short. Get ready for me.

When I come back, you give me chart of your monthly flow and when you’re going to see your ovulation so that I can be able to track it. You can be able to conceive a boy. That is what I want next. And please, don’t tell me any excuses. Anyways, I’ll drop money off for you today. You can buy whatever you want to buy and put in the house.
But make sure you don’t go through my phone again. I’m the man of the house. You don’t have the right to be going through my phone. Zinab did not argue. She kept quiet and that was how Yusuf finished what he was doing and went back to bed without saying a word to her. That night, Zinab cried. The emotional torture was too much for her.
How the husband felt with reluctance. How Yusuf feels that it is normal to treat her the way he was treating her just because they have one child and the child they had is also a girl. What sort of talk is that? Everything kept on ringing on her ear. She remembered how they used to be, and now things have changed because of what? Zainab decided to call her cousin sister, who actually is the one that introduced her to this content creating stuff, and she has been making good money out of it.
That night, Zainab sneaked out of the room and went to the sitting room to call her sister and talk to her. When her sister, Aisha, picked up the call, immediately Zainab started bombarding her with questions. Aisha, you said this content creating pays, but it doesn’t pay me. It doesn’t pay my bills.
In fact, my husband have turned to a monster. I don’t understand what’s going on in this marriage anymore. I thought I married the best man, but sis, this man has been starving me and my daughter. I don’t understand anymore. It’s as if someone else is taking his time. It’s as if someone else is keeping him happy because I noticed that he enjoy torturing me emotionally, and he will still so reluctant as if he’s not doing anything wrong.
Aisha asked her to calm down. Uh-uh. You called me after so many weeks, and this is your first complaint? How are you? How are you, Zainab? Aisha asked her. ; ; I’m not fine because if I’m fine, I won’t sound the way I’m sounding. I need help before hunger will kill me in this house.
Yusuf does not provide as he used to. He doesn’t buy me gifts as he used to. Today, he used our daughter as an experiment that she will grow and go to another man to go and live with. ; ; I should get ready to get pregnant when you are starving me. Zainab calmed down and told Aisha what has been going on for the past years.
Aisha really felt bad for her. Well, if tell me on time. You would have done so and I would tell you what to do. Especially regarding your whole social media accounts. You can monetize them, babe, and be making money like me. I see your content. People love it. People engage. You’re supposed to be earning by now.
I thought you had even monetized, but you didn’t say anything. You know what? I’m going to be sending you money immediately we end this call. Use it and make sure you and your daughter do not starve. I’ll be coming over to your house tomorrow, please. You need to sleep this night. Please, don’t stress yourself. Zainab was grateful to Aisha and thanked her.
And immediately she ended the call, a whooping 100,000 naira was sent by Aisha to her. Zainab was so happy. She immediately deleted the credit alert before Yusuf received and changed his mind about giving her money the next day. The next morning, Yusuf woke up from the cheerful side of the bed. He was so happy. Zainab asked him if he won a contract at the company. But Yusuf replied no.
That today is supposedly going to be the best day of his life. That he’s going for a vacation, a business transaction that will bring him millions if the contract goes through. Zainab was so happy for him. Then Yusuf now instructed her to assist him in bringing out his suits. A particular one that he loved to wear that particular day.
And Zainab agreed. She opened the wardrobe and brought out the suits. She was still trying to put the suits in a presentable way on top of the bed when a receipt fell off from the pocket. Zainab picked it up and opened it immediately. It turns out to be a hotel booking confirmation for him and a woman named Halima.
And they are going to Dubai. Not even Nigeria or any part of the states in Nigeria. Zainab was shocked. She immediately picked up her phone and snapped the receipt and put it back inside the pocket. She was scared for some seconds. She doesn’t know what to do. To confront Yusuf, who is good at lying, or to keep quiet.
Within seconds, immediately Zainab heard Yusuf coming. She had to put that receipt back inside his pocket and pretended she did not see anything. As Yusuf was leaving, he generously dropped money for her to take care of the house for the weekend because he won’t be around. Zainab forced herself to smile and said goodbye to Yusuf as he was leaving happily.
Few minutes after Yusuf left, Aisha came in. And she saw Zainab crying. What happened? He came. I thought I sent you 100,000 to calm down. Aisha, why are men so wicked? Zainab asked her. What happened? Do you know that my husband lied that he was going for a business transaction for his company somewhere in Kano.
Do you know that I saw the receipts? And it says that this man is going to Dubai with a woman named Halima. The hotel bookings have already been there and their names Two of them, their names are there. Aisha, I did not marry a polygamous man because I don’t like sharing my husband. I married a Christian Hausa man because I want my husband to myself.
Is this how Yusuf pay me back for being a good wife and mother of his own child? First, he started starving me. Now I know why he was starving me. Maybe he was taking advice from the side chick. Now he’s going on trips with her. That means the 200,000 naira debit alerts I saw that start with H H A is Halima. Ha! Aisha, do you know that this man preferred to give his side chick a whooping 200,000 than to give me ordinary 20,000 naira that I requested for to buy protein for my child and I so that we can see good food to eat in this house.
This big house. Aisha, please make it make sense. I’m confused. This is how wicked men are. Aisha was calm for a while because what else can she say if not sorry? And sorry is not the solution to Zainab’s problem. She then asked her to bring the receipt that she snapped ; ; and she did. Halima’s full name was written on the receipt and Aisha used that name to search her up on social media.
Immediately it popped up. That was when kasala burst. It turns out Halima was actually a social media freak who posts everything about her lifestyle on social media. The gifts she got, the vacations she has been and as Aisha scrolled down, she now noticed that Halima had known Yusuf for over one year now and this guy has taken her to different countries in that one year neglecting his wife and his child.
Not only that, the expensive bag, luxury designers, gold chain, in fact, everything Yusuf is doing for her, Halima posts them. To make the matter worse, Halima was posting him, too. Even though it was just a side picture, but you can clearly see it actually him without being told. Aisha immediately showed Zainab everything.
After Zainab saw this, she even broke down more. But Aisha consoled her and told her this time isn’t the time to start crying because crying will never solve your problem. This time is time to think. Strategize on what to do. Don’t leave this house on an empty. You must leave well-loaded. If I were you, I will mess Yusuf up.
And I’ll make sure I have enough for myself before leaving. That is the only advice I will give you. But Zainab was in pain and wasn’t thinking about revenge. She doesn’t know what to do and then asked Aisha for help. How do I go about this? You can see clearly that Yusuf does not love you anymore. This is the new woman.
A woman he can confidently send 200,000 and let you and your child starve. A woman he can confidently go on a vacation with without minding your feelings. You are on social media faking your lifestyle just to put food on your table while the man that’s supposed to provide for you are busy gallivanting with another woman.
Well, find a way to get enough money from him. Millions or have enough so that when you want to walk out, you will not have regret. You sacrificed enough, right? Sacrificing your body to give you a child is a big deal, girl. Praying for his business, always giving him advice whenever he needed it.
You’ve always told me the things you’ve done for Yusuf before the two of you got married. All those things will not go to waste. You must get something tangible before leaving. I will not advise you to stay because this one does not love you. You staying here is a total waste of time. All you have to do is to leave and move on with your life.
Forget about social media. All of them will be all right. Aisha then asked her to think, is there any safe box in the house or anywhere Yusuf keeps money? She should think and find a way to get enough. ; [snorts] ; And anytime she’s ready to leave, Aisha told her that she would accommodate her. She stayed in a two-bedroom flat and she’s always lonely and she needed her sister beside her.
Zainab thanked Aisha. And after they all dissed it for a while and Aisha left, Zainab started thinking of what to do next. She went inside her room, her bedroom with Yusuf, and turned it upside down. It was when she was going through Yusuf’s stuff that she saw all the receipt of everything Yusuf had been buying for that woman, Halima.
He even had the guts to bring the receipt home. He has no shame, Zainab said to herself. And she continued digging. Finally, finally, before she thought of giving up, something popped up in front of her face, a shiny suitcase. She brought it out and tried to open it, but she doesn’t have the lock.
She tried her birthday, her husband’s birthday, it was not working. She then went to that Halima’s page and figured out her birthday. Then she tried it, which is the third lock, and the thing opened. Zainab let out a very loud laugh. Oh, hey, so Halima’s birthday is your password. This man have really gone deep. There’s no problem.
Immediately she opened the box, it turns out to be money in foreign currencies that was inside the box, pounds and dollars. Zainab was really shocked. She had never seen such money in her life. And it was big. She became scared and she immediately called Aisha. No. See, I saw something now, but I’m scared though.
I hope I will not be arrested for this one. Aisha asked her to do a video call with her and she did. Immediately Aisha saw that money, she was so happy. Bravo! This is what I’m talking about, girl. That is your life-changing plan. Take it and disappear if I were you. If it was hidden, it was never meant to be found. But Zainab was really scared.
Should I take half of the money and leave the remaining half for him? But Aisha, a cold stone sister, refused. Why would you take half? Take the full money. Take everything. Pack the things that you can be able to get and disappear from that house. Instantly, come over to my house. Chop, chop. Don’t waste time.
Zainab decided to listen to Aisha and immediately pack up the money including the suitcase. Everything. She took it. Packed her child’s bag and her bag and left. She went straight to her child’s school, picked her up and went straight to Aisha’s house. When she got there, she was so scared and panicking.
But Aisha told her and assured her to calm down. First of all, they won’t be able to touch the money for now. They will leave it and see how Yusuf will react when he found out the money is missing. His reaction will determine whether they will touch the money or not. But for now, keep it safe. Aisha then gave her suggestion on where to keep the money.
You have to go to the bank and make use of their safe box. That is the only way you can keep this money without getting things. Zainab listened and went to the bank and saved the money there. She then decided to stay in Aisha’s house for like a week or two to know what Yusuf will do. And just like Aisha predicted, Yusuf found out that the money was missing after he came back one evening, searched for them, and they were nowhere to be found.
At first, Yusuf was not really bothered. He was happy that Zainab left on her own with her daughter. He even invited Halima to move in with him. It was 2 weeks after Halima moved in that he started looking for that money. The briefcase, the money was nowhere to be found, and Yusuf nearly ran mad. He started accusing Halima of stealing his pounds and dollars, but Halima told him that she didn’t steal anything.
He started threatening telling her he was going to call the police, but Halima asked him to think well. What if it was your wife that stole the money and ran away? You’ve not been able to call that woman ever since she left the house, and because I’m staying with you, you feel you can do anyhow? Halima threatened him and warned him not to do anyhow.
I’m not your wife. If you do anyhow, you see anyhow. I have connections. Just one call, your days on this earth will be numbered. Immediately, Halima went inside, packed her bags, and left that house. Yusuf was really frustrated because that was a business money. It was then he called Zainab for the first time after leaving the house for weeks.
Zainab picked up the call and asked him, “This one, you remembered me. I hope all is well.” But Yusuf had no time to start explaining himself. He started shouting on top of his voices, “If you know the money you stole, bring it back. If not, you will not like yourself. If I catch you, Zainab, you will not like yourself.
” Zainab started laughing. “Which money? I didn’t see any money. Don’t you ever call me on the phone to talk this rubbish. I thought you called me to apologize for cheating on me for years while on that your roof. You think I didn’t find out about Halima? The trips, the lie you told me that you were going for a business weekend in Kano.
It turns out you were going for Dubai. Oh, I found the receipt. I know you were cheating and I left peacefully. But you’re calling me to come accuse me of stealing money. What a big fool. Yusuf started begging. All his proud ego just collapsed. Please, that money is for business. If I lose it, I will lose my business, my house, everything.
Please, if you have this money, bring it back. Zainab, you know you’re a good woman. You cannot intentionally ruin the father of your child like this. Hey, so you know you are the father of my child. I thought our daughter is just ordinary girl child that would get married tomorrow.
Oh, now she’s of value to you? Please, delete yourself from my phone and don’t you ever call this number. Immediately, Zainab ended the call before Yusuf could say another word. And in less than 3 weeks after Yusuf made that call, he lost his shop and the only house he was building behind Zainab’s back so that he can move in with Halima, he had to let everything go.
If not, he would go to jail. All because of the money Zainab took. 6 months later, Zainab made good use of the money. She did lots of investments and opened a very good business for herself. She enrolled her daughter in one of the best schools and also got herself a beautiful apartment where she stays with her daughter.
Aisha bumped into Yusuf one evening and the condition she saw him was really terrible. She went straight to her sister, Zainab, and told her what she saw and asked her if she wants to help her husband or at least ex-husband stand on his feet again. Zainab about it and asked Aisha, “What do you think? Should we help him?” Aisha started laughing.
“I don’t know, but now the tables have turned. You are the one doing well and Yusuf is struggling. The way I saw him, I’m not sure that guy have eaten good food. He has slimmed down and was really looking rough. I think you should help him with some money, just to put himself together. After all, he’s still the father of your beautiful daughter.
” Zainab told Aisha that she would think about it. After one week of thinking, Zainab decided to help him with 1 million naira to pick up his life. Only 1 million naira, nothing less, nothing more. If you were Zainab, would you even help him at all? Was she too kind-hearted? What do you think, besties? Tell me in the comment section.

The Secret Suitcase: How One Influencer Reclaimed Her Life from a Deceptive Marriage
Article:
In the polished world of social media, where perfection is curated and filtered, the life of Zainab—known to her 50,000 followers as “Glowy Z”—seemed like the pinnacle of a life well-lived. Her followers tuned in daily to watch her disciplined morning workouts, her impeccable skincare routines, and the artful arrangement of her healthy meals. She preached the gospel of inner peace and discipline, a narrative that resonated with women across the country. Yet, as is often the case with the curated realities of the digital age, Zainab’s online glow was a stark contrast to the dim reality of her home life.
Married for five years to a businessman named Yusuf, Zainab had once known the warmth of a love that felt easy and generous. But as the years turned, that generosity evaporated, replaced by a cold, calculated control. Yusuf, once the man who brought home Friday-night suya and romantic surprises, had transformed into a master of excuses and manipulation. Under the guise of saving for a future and teaching Zainab “discipline,” he had taken control of every single naira that entered the house.
Zainab was forced to account for every expenditure, showing receipts and begging for funds just to put a meal on the table. While she starved in her own home—often feeding herself and their daughter plain rice for days—Yusuf’s own financial maneuvers remained a mystery. He framed his stinginess as “training” for the future, claiming that a woman needed “scarcity to value abundance.” The psychological toll was profound; he criticized her weight-loss journey, mocked her for not providing a son, and demanded she commit to conceiving a boy, all while keeping her in a state of perpetual financial insecurity.
The facade of their marriage finally began to crumble on a quiet evening when Zainab, in a moment of uncharacteristic defiance, checked Yusuf’s phone. A debit alert for 200,000 naira sent to a contact named “H. A.”—just days after he had refused her money for protein for their daughter—pierced the silence. The confrontation that followed was brutal, with Yusuf twisting the blame back onto her, accusing her of blackmail and lack of discipline.
However, the definitive revelation came when Yusuf left for a supposed “business transaction” in Kano. While packing his suitcase, Zainab discovered a receipt—not for Kano, but for a hotel in Dubai, booked for him and a woman named Halima. The discovery sent her into a tailspin. With the help of her cousin and sister, Aisha, Zainab began to pull at the loose threads of Yusuf’s double life. They discovered that Halima was a social media enthusiast who openly flaunted the gifts Yusuf had lavished upon her—designer bags, gold chains, and luxury trips—all while his own wife and child struggled at home.
Aisha’s advice was practical and cold-blooded: “Don’t leave on an empty stomach. You must leave well-loaded.” The betrayal had been absolute; Yusuf had prioritized his side chick over the basic needs of his family.
Zainab began the search for Yusuf’s secret stash. She turned their bedroom upside down, eventually discovering a locked suitcase. Through a clever guess of Halima’s birthday as the passcode, she opened it to find a fortune in foreign currency—pounds and dollars. The sight of the money, hidden away while they had been denied the essentials, brought a mixture of fear and liberation. With Aisha’s encouragement, Zainab made the life-changing decision: she took the money, packed her daughter’s belongings, and fled.
When Yusuf eventually returned, he found an empty house and a missing fortune. His initial indifference quickly turned to panic as he realized the business capital he had been shielding was gone. His world collapsed within weeks; without the capital to fuel his ventures, he lost his shop and the house he had been building to accommodate Halima. Halima, realizing the gravy train had ended, abandoned him as quickly as she had arrived.
When Yusuf finally reached out to Zainab, his tone was a desperate, screeching shadow of the man he had once been. He threatened her, accused her of theft, and attempted to leverage his status as a father—a role he had ignored for years. Zainab’s response was a calm, composed dismissal. She had found her footing.
Six months later, Zainab was a different woman. She had invested the money wisely, provided her daughter with the best education, and established an independent business. When Aisha bumped into a now-destitute Yusuf, his decline was visible—he was gaunt, rough, and struggling to survive.
The story culminates in a question of morality: should Zainab help her former tormentor? Zainab eventually sent Yusuf one million naira—not out of obligation, but out of a sense of finality and grace. It was a gesture that underscored the transition from a woman defined by her husband’s scarcity to a woman who had mastered her own abundance. Zainab’s story serves as a reminder that behind the digital “glow,” the truth of one’s life is often hidden in the choices we make when no one is watching. She had survived the starvation of her spirit and the coldness of a deceptive union to build a future that belonged entirely to her.
