She Became Ungrateful IMMEDIATELY she took over the family BUSINESS,But..#story #folklore #tales – Ty

Once upon a time, in the city of Owerri, there lived a young woman named Chamaka, who came from a family with absolutely nothing to  spare. Unfortunately for her, her father died when she was just 12 years old, and her mother took on the responsibility of taking care of her. Her mother sold akara by the roadside, and every single morning, before the sun fully rose, she would be there, frying in the same spot, in the same black pots.

It was hard work. It was honest work, but it was not enough to keep Chamaka, who was very bright in school. Chamaka was a very intelligent young girl. The kind of intelligence that made her teachers stop and notice. The kind that neighbors noticed and always praised her and tell her she would actually go far.

But, being intelligent is not enough to pay school fees. By the time Chamaka was 17, she was already three 10 behind. The school had to stop her from coming because she was owing a lot of school fees. And this made her to sit at home, watching her mates leave for school in their uniform. And this made Chamaka to be extremely sad.

And that was when Obinna came inside the picture. Obinna is just a hustler. He was only 24 years old. He was a driver. He drove a delivery van for a small logistics during the day, and during the weekend, he actually drove a wealthy man as the driver. He was doing two jobs at the same time. Every time he’s driving the logistic van, his delivery route always passed Chamaka’s street every week.

And he used to stop to buy akara from Chiamaka’s mother. And from there, he started gisting and talking to Chiamaka herself. He used to see Chiamaka go to school. But when he noticed Chiamaka wasn’t going again, the day he dropped by to buy akara and bread as usual, he jokingly asked her about her education. Chiamaka became sad and told him that she had to drop out because of school fees.

She was owing a lot of school fees. Obinna felt so pity and now asked her the full amount she was owing. It turns out Chiamaka was only owing 50,000 naira for the last three terms she had missed. Obinna did not promise her heaven and earth. Obinna did not tell her, “Oh, I will clear your school fees just like that.” He only pitied her a little bit and told her to keep trusting in God that miracles are real.

Two days later, Obinna returned and still met her in the same spot frying akara with the mother and not going to school. He then called her by the side and gave her an offer. “I would love to pay for your school fees, but you’re going to pay me back little by little. At least if I pay it, you can go and write your exams, your final exams as uh final year student in your secondary education.

You don’t need to miss it. I don’t need to always feel bad when your classmates are passing. I used to see your face whenever they pass and greet you. They are on their uniform coming back from school while you are here frying akara. It’s so bad, Chiamaka, and I want to help. Do you agree to pay me back?” Chiamaka was so grateful and replied yes.

That was how Obinna followed her to the school that same morning and paid off all the debt she was owing for the past three terms. Chiamaka was so grateful. She kept on thanking him, kept on thanking him. In fact, her name became Madam Thank You. Immediately, Chiamaka took Obinna back to the shop where they sell akara and told the mother what happened.

The mother was also happy and grateful and thanked Obinna for paying off her daughter’s school fees. Now, Chiamaka can return to school and follow her mates and graduate. The mother thanked him, blessed him, and after that, Obinna left for food. Because of that one payment, Obinna and Chiamaka became very close.

At first, it wasn’t a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship. It was just a normal closeness. Obinna get to come to the shop to assist. They spend time together after they close in the evening. They talk, they chit-chat, and from there, Chiamaka finished secondary school in less than 6 months. She even wrote JAMB.

Fortunately for her, she got admission immediately because she was a very intelligent young girl. But when she got that admission, Obinna was happy for her. The mother was not happy because she knew if she cannot pay ordinary 50,000 naira for secondary school fee, is it university fee that she can pay? She had to tell Chiamaka to calm down and see if she will forfeit the admission and start next year.

But Obinna, the good heart man, who had already started falling in love with her, decided to come into the picture and play superman. He then told Chiamaka’s mother that he will foot the bill and she can be paying him monthly basis, any amount she has. But as for Chiamaka, she would have to go to university. She cannot just end her life here.

I would love to pay and I would love to sponsor her. Chiamaka’s mother was the most happiest woman on earth the day Obinna told her that he would pay for Chiamaka’s university fee. Chiamaka, on the other hand was also very happy. She thanked him and thanked him. But, the thank you wasn’t what was in Obinna’s mind.

The only thing he knows is that he’s in love and he can do anything for the woman he loves. And that was how Chiamaka entered university. And before a blink of an eye, 4 years passed and she graduated. Who paid? Obinna. From year one to the final year. One year after she graduated, Chiamaka on the other hand had already fallen in love with Obinna.

They prophesied their love to themselves and they continued dating. Then, Obinna proposed one evening. And Chiamaka accepted the proposal. And that was how the marriage preparation started. In less than a month, Obinna and Chiamaka got married in a very small way. Not something too much because they were working on a budget.

After the marriage, Chiamaka did not change. She was still the woman who valued simplicity and who was contented with what she had, regardless of the fact she’s now a graduate and her husband isn’t. Chiamaka decided to think of a way they would start making money on their own without depending on people. She came up with an idea and called Obinna one evening and told him about starting his own logistic company instead of working for those people that he was working for.

Obinna listened attentively and was jotting down a lot of things that Chiamaka was saying. He then told her that he doesn’t know how to start though. This one might be difficult. But, Chiamaka assured him that it wouldn’t be. It might not be that easy, but when we start the work, you would see that God do bless people in ways that we do not expect.

With Chiamaka’s faith and encouragement, Obinna listened and followed her words. With their whole savings, they bought their first van and the business started. Obinna was the one that drove that van for complete 6 months straight to see how things run and the van was safe and sound and he also noticed how much he made with the van.

; [snorts] ; They now employed a driver. Within that 6 months, they were able to afford another van and also employed another driver who came signed an undertaking and an oath that they would not do anything silly with the company bus. And within 5 years of their marriage, they now owned more than seven vans and their logistic business blew up.

Their life also changed. They moved to a bigger apartment, furnished it and they were living just fine. And just like that, their life changed. They suddenly living so large. Chiamaka took it so personal. She went and shut a shopping for things that were actually unnecessary. As she was spending so much money, Obinna started getting worried.

He then called her one evening and sat her down. As his wife, lover and friend, “Babe, please, I know our life have changed. I know you are the reason why everything is moving the way it’s moving, but I want to beg you for one thing. Reduce your spending. The way you’re spending these days, it is scary. Every day you’re coming back with one new thing or the other.

You’re not thinking about savings. You don’t have any children yet. We are still trying for God to bless us with one. Why don’t we prepare for the future of this child right now? Let’s start saving towards the child coming. And also, your mother, I know you wanted her to stop frying akara, but she told you she couldn’t.

She employed people that will be assisting her. And yet, the business is doing well more than it used to do. Why did you stop visiting her? Why did you stop talking about your mother? And why did you stop picking her calls? She had called me severally to complain that you no longer call her, and whenever she does, you don’t pick up her calls or return it.

My dear wife, what is really going on? I hope this money have not started entering your head. I know that money changes people, but please, let it not change you. I beg you. Lastly, I now see that you hang out with some of those estate three men. Huh. My dear wife, those women you are seeing, most of them are housewives, and their husbands are big, big businessmen.

I am not saying you shouldn’t mingle with them. But you see their lifestyle, the way they do things. Before you know it, you will quickly start imitating them. You will quickly want to start doing competition with them, showcasing wealth that we don’t have. We have so many investments on hand. We don’t even have a building of our own.

We’re living in a rented apartment. Most of those women are living in their own house in this estate. Please, Chamaka, I want you to use your sense when you are following these women. Let them not influence you badly, you. I am begging you. We are doing just fine. But let us not bring in devil when devil is on his own, no.

Chamaka became really annoyed. She became angry. Yes. Obinna was making sense, but she find it very embarrassing, disrespectful. Are you now saying that a full-grown woman like me don’t have sense? That was the question Chamaka threw at Obinna immediately. No. Uh-uh. Babe, I never said you don’t have sense. Then why would you be talking to a full-grown woman like me as if I don’t know what I’m doing.

I’m an adult, Obinna. I’m also your wife. We worked hard for this money. Let me enjoy it small. What is it, Seff? This life, anything can happen. I can be going on by the road and got hit by a car. And if I die, and that’s the end. I will not want to die a poor woman. I want to enjoy my life to the full. As far as my mother is concerned, she’s the one that is doing herself.

I told her to stop that akara business totally, and she refused. So, let her dance to the tune. I am not going to receive her pick up calls until she stop that business. I told her I will open another business for her, but she refused. Telling me she’s an old woman, and she needs to be moving around.

The business I will open for her, won’t she be moving around? So, anytime she calls you to complain, make sure you tell her that I will not pick up her calls until she stop that business. As for my friends that I hang around with, they are not influencing me badly, okay? Just stop. Maybe you are feeling jealousy.

Because tell me why you are just speaking against them. Women that have changed my life, women that showed me how things are supposed to be done properly as a woman who has worked out to be in the level that we are right now. I know we are living in a rented apartment. I know we don’t have any building to our name. I know we are still growing.

I have all those things on my head. I didn’t forget. So, please, Obinna, stop preaching. I know I’m a full-grown adult. I know. Obinna did not want to argue. He only thanked her for even giving him a listening ear and walked out of the room. One week later, something very tragic happened. At exactly 9:14 a.m.

in the morning, Obinna drove out of the house. He was going to the company to start his day. That was when he had a very terrible accident. One of those pickup trucks hit him and he collided with another car. Unfortunately, Obinna was rushed to the hospital because his car was badly damaged and he was in critical condition. Chiamaka was contacted immediately that Obinna got involved in an accident and she immediately rushed to the hospital panicking and praying for God to save her husband’s life.

When she got to the hospital, the nurses informed her that the husband is at the emergency unit and they are taking care of her. She just needs to start praying to God so that he would survive it. Chiamaka entered prayer section and started asking God for forgiveness if she had ever sinned. She was praying and asking God to please save her husband’s life.

After a whole full two hours later, the two doctors that were attending to Obinna came out. One of the doctor now approached Chiamaka to talk to her. Hello, madam. Chiamaka was so tensed. Please tell me my husband survived. The doctor nodded. Yes, ma’am. He survived. But the damage to his spine, I’m sorry. We couldn’t fix it yet, but with months of daily care and medication, he would heal.

Sometimes, he might not. But the devastating news is your husband might never walk without assistance again. Chiamaka cried. She was really devastated and sad. At least, she was grateful that Obinna survived. “He is alive. That was what mattered at first. That was the only thing that mattered.” After spending over 3 months at the hospital, Obinna was finally discharged and he was brought home.

During his stay at the hospital, Chiamaka took over the logistic company and was running it by herself. From there, she got to discover the huge amount of money they were making on a weekly basis, plus on a monthly basis. And that was when her greediness started. After Obinna was discharged 3 months later and he was brought back home, Obinna noticed that Chiamaka had already moved his things down to another room where he would be staying.

When Obinna questioned her, Chiamaka simply said, “You’ll be needing some privacy, babes. And because of your condition, sometimes you won’t be going to the toilet, bathroom by yourself. So, we’re going to employ a nurse that’ll be taking care of you. I can’t be running the company and at the same time be taking care of you. You have to know that this our business is taxing.

; [snorts] ; If I’m not there, those guys, these drivers, they will steal from us.” Obinna understood. Running a logistic company is not for the faint-hearted. So, he agreed. For the first 1 month, Chiamaka was very stable. She attended to him, took care of him, even though they have a nurse that do stay after Chiamaka goes to work.

The nurse would stay and take care of Obinna until she comes back from work. Then the nurse would go. But after a month, Chiamaka became withdrawn from the husband. In fact, she went and hired a permanent nurse, the one that would stay overnight. Obinna was noticing what was going on but didn’t complain. He felt maybe the business is now more taxing and the business is doing very well.

That is the reason why Chamaka does not have chance for him. But six months passed and now it turns out that in a week Obinna will get to see Chamaka just once. She does not sleep at home anymore. She spends her time outing, partying, and clubbing, spending money recklessly. Obinna became worried for his company.

He decided to know what was going on. Because he has tried so many times to ask Chamaka directly about the company, the finances, how it was running. But Chamaka keeps saying, “It’s fine. It’s doing well. You don’t need to worry. Just focus on recovering.” As Obinna made that call, the manager hurried immediately and came back home to come and meet Obinna.

When the two of them sat down to discuss, the manager’s face said everything Obinna needed to know. What was going on? Oga, a lot oh. We have been losing so many clients. In fact, people are complaining that their packages are not moving out. Some will stay for over one week. In fact, people are going to be suing us back-to-back these days because of how madam is handling the company.

She hardly comes to work. She does not assign money for for for the daily distribution of force for the vans. People’s goods are getting delayed and because of that, business has been bad. People are withdrawing. Bad reviews everywhere. She warned us not to come to you to complain about anything. She warned us that if anybody tries it, the person will be sacked.

But what is there? Me, I’m saying I’ll come and talk to you, sir, before you called me. Because she has been owing me for the past two months. Not only me, all the workers in that company. At first, when she took over, things really improved. She was attentive. But all of a sudden, after she discovered how much we make in a week and a month, forgetting we have to fuel the car, forgetting we have to fuel the bikes, forgetting we have more than 15 to 16 drivers that need to be paid on a monthly basis.

She forgot about all those things and she now spends recklessly. I think you should call her to order, sir. If not, this business will go down very fast. It has already gone down, oh, but we still have people who trust us. With [snorts] the little money she has been providing for only two van, Buga, only two van.

She only fuel only two van in a day. Obinna was so heartbroken and devastated upon hearing that his business had really gone down. The same business that Chiamaka helped to build is what she’s now helping to ruin. Why? He promised the manager that he would get back to him and they shouldn’t leave no matter what. He begged him to talk to other drivers that he will fix things.

The manager was happy and left. By evening that fateful day, fortunately, Chiamaka came back. After 3 days of not being at home, Obinna blocked her path and told her that today today, the two of them will have that discussion whether she likes it or not. Chiamaka then asked him, “What is the color of your problem this evening, you man?” Obinna was so shocked.

“Did you call me a man? I wasn’t stuttering, Mr. Man. Of what use are you to me? Is it in bed? Nothing. Is it in providing? Nothing. I’m practically the man and the woman in this house. And you are my liability. So, what do you want to discuss about? Obinna calmed himself down and then said to her, Chiamaka, my beloved wife, I married you.

Do you remember how we started? From nothing. Out of love I have for you, I paid your school fees. You went to university. You graduated. We started a business together. Is this how you want to pay me back for everything I’ve done for you? Oh, please, stop it. Chiamaka shouted at him.

So, you want to start a cheap blackmail, eh? Because you sent me to school, are you the first man to send a woman to school? You should be grateful that I married you. Some women, after a man spent on them for many years, they end up going for the bigger fish. A man that can take care of them. But I married you despite knowing you had nothing.

And we built something out of it. So, please, you yourself should be grateful, not the other way around. Obinna still swallowed that and then asked her about the company, the logistic company and how it’s going. Chiamaka replied reluctantly, “Fine. It’s going fine. Is that all? I want to go and rest. I’m tired.” “I know you want to go and rest,” Obinna replied.

But when were you planning to tell me about what is going on in the company? You no longer give full money for the old buses and the bikes. And people are complaining and withdrawing using our services. You have not paid your workers for the past 2 months. Chiamaka, what have you been doing with all the money we are making? When do you intend to tell me that the company we built they are falling apart? Things are not moving as they used to move.

Is it when the company is completely dried, the whole drivers have left, nothing is left, that’s when you will open up and talk to me?” But Chiamaka fired back at him. “So, if I tell you now, what do you want to do? A crippled man, what do you want to do? Do you have money to pay the workers? Or do you have money to fold a whole van? Please, let’s stop the discussion.

There is nothing you can do. We’ll just manage the way we are managing. We’re going to be fine. Manage the way we are managing? Are you okay, Chiamaka? Is this how to run business in your village? You’re not considering the workers you’re owing. You’re not considering that people are withdrawing their services. You are supposed to be thinking of solution instead of you feeling nonchalant as if it’s not your business.

See, I think it’s time for you to stop managing that business. Thank you. You’ve done enough damage. I will handle my business from now onwards. Here I have enough that can be able to follow me around. I will go to the company and sort out things the way I can. Stop coming there. Hand over everything you are doing to the manager.

Thank you. You have tried. Chiamaka started laughing. Eh, so you feel you can do better than I can? Okay. Go now. Go and revive it. Let me see how you can manage it. You don’t know that the economy is so bad. Fraud is increasing every day and you think I’m stupid for doing what I’m doing. Anyways, that’s your cup of tea.

If you want me to stop, I will gladly do that. But just know that as I’m stopping, I am moving out of this house. I’m even tired of seeing your face. That was how Chiamaka went in, packed her bags, and left the house. Obinna could not stop her. Obinna did not say a word. He was just speechless. How a human being, so loving for years, can change in a twinkle of an eye.

Just because of money. Especially bad influence from those women that she’s hanging around with. He maintained his cool. What Chamaka does not know is that despite the fact that Obinna was in that position that he was, he still have savings that will be able to revive that company, even though it might not revive it to the way it used to be.

After she left, Obinna thought maybe it’s a normal way of going for vacation and coming back in 3 days or in 1 week. But 1 week passed, Chamaka didn’t come back. She didn’t call, and she isn’t picking Obinna’s calls. 2 weeks passed, 3 weeks passed, 4 weeks. And just like that, 3 months passed, and Chamaka never came back.

The only message, the last message she dropped for Chinidu is that she’s done with the marriage, and she is no longer interested in him. While Obinna, with the help of the nurse, went back to the company, paid his workers the 2 months’ salary Chamaka was owing them, revived most of the things that was already dead on arrival.

They started mounting flyers, and started pleading for people to come back because the company has changed hands. With the savings and the investment that Obinna did secretly behind Chamaka’s back, he did some savings and some investments in the bank that yielded a huge profit. That was where he went and withdrew a huge amount of money and revived that logistic company back to what it was, even better.

They bought new vans, employed new workers, and business was moving as usual. Because of the fact that Chamaka was not always around, and this particular nurse has been the one taking care of Obinna. Obinna didn’t know when he fell in love with her. And the nurse in question genuinely cared about Obinna.

The two of them fell in love with each other, and they started a in From relationship to lovers, from lovers to the nurse getting pregnant so fast. She was even scared when she got pregnant. She approached Obinna and told Obinna the latest that she’s pregnant. To her surprise, Obinna was the happiest man on earth. He hugged her and thanked her at least for giving him a child.

Two of them decided to do something small. Obinna paid the nurse’s bride price and they did a white wedding. The two of them were married legally. The only issue with Chamaka was that they were never married legally. But they got married traditionally. Which Obinna returned the bride price before going forward to marry the nurse.

9 months later, after the nurse gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, someone knocked on the door. And when the nurse opened the door, it turns out to be Chamaka. Chamaka was so shocked to see her and see her carrying a newborn baby. She started screaming down the whole roof. ; [snorts] ; Oh, husband snatcher.

You didn’t even wait for me to leave before you snatch my husband away from me. Just then, Obinna came out. He was still in wheelchair. The man did not get lucky about walking again. He then asked Chamaka what she’s doing in his house and who even invited her. She started crying. Babe, I left, I didn’t even bother to look for me.

This is so bad. You quickly moved on with this thing. Eh? Are you sure you’re even the father of that child? I love you so much. You know how we started. Let’s go back to the way we used to be. I see that our company is booming, you know. I noticed there are some new new things that you introduced. Hi. I’m so happy for you.

I know you would do it. You’re a great man. But Obinna stopped her right there. This is where you draw the line, Chiamaka. I am no longer married to you. That woman here, that beautiful woman you’re looking at, is my wife, the mother of my child. Please, leave my house. We are no longer married. We only did traditional marriage.

And I’ve returned the bride price to your people. We don’t have any business anymore. Please, leave my house and don’t you ever come back. If you have any business you want to do, please, make sure you talk to my manager. They will inform me and I will approve it. If you step foot in this house again without any approval, I am going to call the security on you.

I need you to walk out of my house in peace before I will throw you out in pieces. Chiamaka was so speechless. She doesn’t even know what else to say. The least she could do was to carry her shame out of the house. And she went back to the same woman, her mother that she abandoned years ago saying that she doesn’t want her to do akara business.

That was the life she still went back to. That was what was still feeding her. Because those big big women abandoned her. And those big big men that they were introducing her to showed her pepper. And that’s was when she realized she was on the wrong path. But unfortunately, it came late. She went back to humble beginnings and she learned her lesson the hard way.

While Obinna progressed with his new family. I know you enjoyed this story, besties. Please, share it with your loved ones. Give it a very big thumbs up and don’t forget to click that subscribe button. I will see you on the next one. Bye.
