If Only She LISTENED To Her SISTER,She Wouldn’t Have Lost Her…#story #folklore #tales – Ty

Simi, I am your only sister and I’ll keep telling you the truth even if you don’t want to hear it. That Tola friend of yours is a very good friend though. But, she gets manipulated easily. You have to be very careful. Your friends will betray you and you’ll be the one to come back crying. Simi, who was getting ready in her room to leave, looked at her younger sister one more time in anger and yelled at her.

Stop it, Ayo. Is it that spirit in you that is always making you to behave somehow or is it the village people that sent you this morning to come and talk to me and spoil my day? Stop talking to me if you are unsure of what you’re saying. As Simi was still yelling at Ayo, pulling out her frustration, her mother walked in and asked what was going on.

As Simi immediately faced her, Mama, hold this your spirit child though, please. I don’t want to issue this morning. Hold her. If not, she will collect from me. How can she wake up this morning to come and spoil my mood? My friends will betray me. I should be careful with Tola. There is nothing I will not hear from this girl.

Hold her because she will not like my next line of action. Simi immediately picked her bag. As she was trying to leave, Ayo still dropped another one for her. Simi, Simi, my sister, they will all smile at your face so, but they are not your friend. If you like, don’t listen though. If you like, you listen. It’s your life, not mine.

I’m only here to give you what I’m supposed to give you as a news. Simi still left to go meet up with her girls without even listening to her sister. Meanwhile, her younger sister Ayo has not always been like this. When she was small, she behaved strangely. No friends, no outing, always on her own talking to herself. She was very fearful of people.

Even in school, she had no single friend. And that made some of our students to withdraw from her. Everybody looked at her strangely. What kind of girl does not like communication, friendship, or anybody around her? She’s always on her own, reading, playing, and talking to herself. The mother and the father became worried.

They tried all they could. They took her to Babalola, they took her to the hospital, and finally it was the hospital that concluded that Simi must be autistic child who loves to stay on her own and don’t like company of any other person. And she’s afraid of people. She doesn’t want friend and always on her own.

They were told to look at her as a special child because she’s a very brilliant young girl. Since the hospital had finally diagnosed her as being autistic, no one in that family took her behavior seriously. They all concluded, since she’s a special child, they would leave her to live her life the way she wanted it.

And that’s was how Ayo stayed on her own and grew up to be a young beautiful teenage girl. Life continued until one day when Ayo turned 18 years old. On that day, the mother was getting ready to go out to go and buy her birthday gift and some cake. She had already told her previously that she would buy her birthday gift and invite family members.

Ayo wasn’t even interested. She only nodded and asked her mother to do whatever she wants to do and don’t include her. But if it’s for cake, that she would love to eat cake. She was so eager for the cake. Only because it was her birthday, doesn’t even concern her. But that fateful day on her 18th birthday, her mother was to leave the house.

Ayoola suddenly came out of her room and started screaming. Her mother was actually on her way out. She turned immediately and became scared. Ayoola, what is the problem? And for the first time in so many years, Ayoola stood in front of her mother, looked her straight into her eyes boldly, and told her to go back and sit down and rest.

She isn’t celebrating any birthday, and she won’t be going out to anywhere to buy any birthday cake. That she’s not eating again. She doesn’t want to eat cake. Her mother was confused. She thought she was just joking and wanted to push her by the side and leave. When Ayoola dragged her back by force and locked the doors. Locked the front door, locked the back door, and held the key so strong that her mother knew that she can never remove that key from her hand.

If not, Ayoola would become very aggressive. When Ayoola was done, she entered her room and locked the doors. From inside her room, she was telling her mother to go and sleep, rest, because she needs it. That birthday will come and go, but once a life is lost, it can never be recovered. Her mother was really scared.

That strange behavior scared the hell out of her. She started making some calls. She called everyone she could call, but there was nobody close that could come and help her open the door. Simi had already left, and she was in another part of town. Her husband had already left since morning, and he wasn’t around. It was only her and Ayomide that was at home.

And since Ayomide had locked her room, there is no way she can enter there to go and collect the key. Her mother was restless for some hours and finally she gave up and calmed down. Some hours later, during the evening, Ayo’s mother received a phone call from Simi. As she picked up, she noticed that Simi was panicking and she was so scared asking her if she had left the house, if she went to go and buy the cake.

But Ayo’s mother replied no, that Ayo locked her inside and never allowed her to leave. Simi became very relieved. Ah, mama. Thank God. Oh God, thank you. I have been crying. I’ve been saying no. My mother will not be there. Ayo’s mother then asked her what the problem was and why she’s relieved and scared at the same time.

Simi now told her what happened. She told her there was a serious accident at the bakery where she wanted to go and pick up cakes. And the accident happened in the morning, that time she said she’d be leaving. And guess what, mama? Nobody survived it. Everybody in that bakery was wiped out. Ayo’s mother was shocked.

What? What did you just say? Yes, mama. I’m telling you the truth, oh. Nobody survived it. I was so worried and scared. But thank God you did not go out. Is anybody that held you back from not going out? Give that person a very big hug and thank that person for your life. Cuz what I’m seeing here, everybody turned to dust

.

The place exploded. Immediately she dropped that call, Ayo came out of the room smiling and then gladly gave the mother the keys to the house. Mama, you can go out now. You said you wanted to go out before. Go out. I didn’t want to eat cake, but now make sure you add it cake parfait so that I will enjoy my birthday very well.

Ayo smiled and went back to her room. The mother stood there shocked, confused, and her mind kept on wondering what would have happened if she insisted on going out that morning. Since that incident, Ayo’s mother knew there was something strange about Ayo. And Ayo is no ordinary child that anybody should play with.

Despite the fact she behaved strangely, but the girl is somehow strangely gifted, and nobody should play with it. Ayo’s mother was the first person to experience it. Others never did. That’s why Simi did not believe her when she was warning her about her friend, Bola. Meanwhile, Ayo’s sister, Simi, had been best friends with Bola since secondary school.

They lived on the same street, basically grew up as besties. Unfortunately, they got admission into the same university, University of Lagos, Unilag. They were really tight and close. They shared secrets. They shared funny moments, and they shared sad moments. They were the kind of best friend who finished each other’s sentences, knew each other’s food orders, and had complete trust in each other.

But Choma and Joke turned out to be mutual friends with Bola and Simi. Bola and Simi were best of friends while in university, and they met up with Choma and Joke who joined the gang. It did not stop the friendship between Bola and Simi. It added to their friendship. Even though there are some things Bola and Simi can do, and they would not involve Choma and Joke inside it.

They both maintained their tight bestie friendship. But little did they know that what they were doing was just pouring fuel inside fire. At first, things were going on well. They were all getting along. There was no jealousy. They maintained their friendship. They fight. They settle. They have misunderstanding. They settle. As they finished university, the four friends maintained their relationship.

Fortunately for Tola, she got a job immediately after they finished graduating ; ; and they served. But Simi did not. Simi thought herself to be someone who is crafty and she was good with her hands. She loved making things. She loved exploring. She learned how to bake, learned how to sew.

There was nothing handy that Simi did not learn. And she was making money out of all of them. Even her friend Tola sometimes used to wonder how she does all those things effortlessly without getting tired. ; ; And Simi would tell her it has always been talent and nothing more. And it’s also nature.

She loves things that she produce herself and she doesn’t want to work under anybody. Then, one faithful day, it was their mutual friend Chioma’s birthday. As it was coming, that day Simi visited Tola who was actually living in a service apartment that was given to her by her company. The two of them were just in the sitting room when Simi told her that Chioma’s birthday is coming up and they need to get her a gift.

And they needed to get her something that is personal, something that she would love. Chioma too is not a poor girl. She’s also working. She works for herself. Simi suggested they make like a custom gift box and put some beautiful things inside it and surprise her on that day. Immediately, Tola loved the idea but had no idea of where to even start.

Immediately, Simi started dishing out ideas. Well, we’re going to put Chuma’s favorite colors, her initials, her best perfumes, and a handwritten note by us. I’m going to design everything. Not only that, we’re going to put some of our favorite things that she love inside it. I think that will be more personal and she would love it.

Bola was so invested. Oya, now, let’s start. And that was how Simi started crafting a birthday gift and they spent 6 hours on it. After they were done, Bola was the happiest. Wow, this is so beautiful, Simi. Like, this is the best thing I’ve done today. You are really talented, this girl, oh. And that was how they sent out a dispatch rider and they forwarded the gift straight to Chuma.

When Chuma received it, she was the happiest girl on earth. She made a video call to them immediately and was screaming on the phone. Thank you, girls. I love the two of you. And I can’t wait to spend my evening, my birthday party evening with you guys. As for this gift, this is the best I’ve received. She was so happy.

She made a recording of it immediately and posted it on her social media handle. Within 2 hours of posting that, plenty people started asking on the comment section, “Who made this gift? It’s so beautiful. It’s so intentional. It’s so personal. We want to order. Who made it? Oh, I’d love to make it for my mom.

I want to make it for my dad, my sister, my girlfriend, my husband.” It was all in this comment section. People were ordering. They wanted to know who made it. Bola was the first person to see the comments and immediately alerted her Simi. girl, what we made is trending, you know. Come and see.” When the two of them saw the comments, they were so happy.

Tola now said, “Business don’t start to just like that. Me and my bestie don’t get business where we go do. See, we are going to take all these orders. We need to call Choma immediately and tell her to please give out our contacts to them, okay? They will prefer whatever they want and we’re going to make a whole lot of money out of this business.

” Simi was excited. Tola was excited. But nobody really thought it the other way around that that idea was actually Simi’s idea, not Tola’s idea. But Tola grabbed it as if she was the one that made everything in the box. And Simi, being a girl who does not think much, didn’t really call it anything. She took it happily that she they have gotten a business.

And the business is going to make them tons of money. Immediately they called Choma and told her about the business plan. Choma was so happy for them and told them to open a social media account immediately as she’s talking to them. Name it something. They should make They should have a name. So that she can post their social media handle to the customers that is commenting on the comment section.

They can now reach out to them. They loved the idea and immediately Simi opened a social media account on that business and she named it Made With Us. They then posted their first video. That same video that Choma made and posted on her page. That was the video they posted with their contact on them. Now, the person’s contact that was on the screen was Simi’s contact.

Simi had to beg Tola that since they will be doing business together that let her be using her space to create those things. Since she do 9-5, she wouldn’t want to do that at home. Better be doing everything here. It will be flexible for her. Tola had no issues with it. She agreed immediately. And that was how Made It All Started.

And Tola’s house and house address was the headquarter that they were using to produce all those things. Simi had to stop every other thing she was doing to make money because the order that was coming in from that business page it was really alarming. After they successfully gotten their first two orders, Simi went home that day and told the mother the good news.

The mother was so happy for her. Wow, finally. You’ve always been looking for something stable to do. Instead of you jumping from tailoring to baking, anyone they call you, you’re available just to make money. Finally, you found something that will keep you one place. Simi was the happiest. Finally, mama.

At least, I’ll stop suffering for one cobble and two cobble because I want to establish two business at a time. I think this one will make me stay one place. And by God’s grace, the business will go beyond what I ever imagined. As she was so happy sharing that good news with the mother, Ayo came out and welcomed her.

Sis of life. Big sis of life. She hailed her sister, Simi. Welcome, oh. Simi was really surprised. That’s the first time seeing Ayo hailing her. I hope I’m safe, madam. Why are you hailing me this time around? Ayo started smiling again. What do you mean? I should not hail my sister again? The beauty brain. The beauty brain bombed everything.

Simi, just calm down. See that business you founded? That is your breaking point. That business will change your life and change the life of this family in case you don’t know. But, only if you listen me and listen carefully. This business you started was your idea. It was never Tola’s idea. Because Tola does not know how to design all those gifts, bags, and everything.

If I were you, I’ll keep my talent hidden, you know. Don’t do everything in front of her. Do some behind her. She’s a fast learner. She can grab what you know and set up her own. Another thing, my sis of life, if you want to do a partnership with someone, register the business. Even if you don’t want to register it now, call a lawyer and do what? Have a written agreement.

If you do not do this, see the way I’m hailing you now, you are happy. That same way, I’ll be talking to you, you’ll be crying. Because tears will not bring back any mistakes that will be made. Rectify it now. Have a written agreement with Tola so that two of you will know where you stand. How many percentage each person is getting.

I will not allow anybody to cheat you. This is your business in case you don’t know. Tola has 9-5 that pays her almost a million naira. She’s a big girl. While you juggle from one job to the other just to make ends meet of ordinary 200,000 in a month. Now you know what you want to do, but I’ve given you my best advice.

Have a written agreement. And congratulations on your new business. And your work’s out immediately. I went back to her room to continue whatever she was doing. Immediately she left, Simi’s mother faced her. Your sister is correct, oh Simi. I think you should have a written agreement.

I know you’ve been friends with Tola for a long time, but having a written agreement is going to separate your friendship from business. This is business. And it was actually your idea. I do not expect her to put mouth in it as I tell you that it’s our business. I know she assisted you when you were doing those birthday package for your friend Shima, but regardless I think you should listen to your sister. That’s all.

Simi promised her mother that she would do as she said. But she didn’t really take action immediately. Because of the orders that were trooping in and people giving beautiful reviews online. Simi became very busy. The orders were really choking her. She’s the one doing this. She’s the one doing that. Tola only helps and assists when she comes back from work in the evening.

She will now help with the packaging and also help with using her phone to video all every product and post them online for more customers to request. With that kind of busy schedule, Simi totally forgot about having any written agreement, the percentage they should be sharing and what each of them, the role they play.

But since Tola had already started doing something Simi decided to leave all those ones for her. Simi now became the creative director. And since Tola had a bigger living room and the sitting room was really designed very well, so they don’t need much when taking videos. The beauty of the room always beautified their products. That was why Simi chose Tola’s apartment.

And Tola at first had no issues with it. Simi became the creative director, the designer, the Instagram account, she handled it. All the emails, the WhatsApp request, all the purchases, it was Simi that handled them. While Tola was the person that handled the logistics coordinator. She was the one that anytime she comes back, she will handle the deliveries.

She make videos of the products and that was all. They maintained that routine for 14 months and it worked without any problem. They did not have any issue. They were sharing the money equally, even though it was Simi that was doing most of the work. She had no issues. Others were multiplying, she was happy that she was earning more than she was earning before.

Not actually putting the most important things in place. And she still did not register that business. Then one evening, she came back home. She was so exhausted. And Ayo flew out of her room again and welcomed her with a smile. Simi asked her what she wanted. This one she’s being too nice again and smiling anyhow.

Or she’s there to come and lecture her again. Ayo nodded her head. No. I don’t want anything. I don’t need anything from you, sis. I only came to give you good news and bad news. I have a good news and I have a bad news. Which one should you prefer first? Simi looked at her. She looked very serious and then asked her to start with the bad news then the good news.

Okay, Ayo now continued. Sis of life. Your business is doing well, oh. That your business you’re doing with Tola. Doing good. But why have you not registered the business and have a written agreement? Because the bad news here is that Tola, your best friend, will do you bad. And I’m not sure you will recover from it easily.

That is the bad news. Now to the good news. You both will get a very huge contract soon. And that is where your doom will start. If you know what is good for you now as I’m talking to you, go and get a written agreement so that you and your friend Tola would sign it. If you do not and this huge project comes ha, you will not cry, oh.

Ayo immediately turned and left. Simi sat there thinking about what Ayo just said. She immediately made a call to Joke, one of their mutual friend who studied law and has been practicing. But because she stayed in another state it made them not seem as if they were close, but they talk almost every time. When they made that call to Joke and told her everything she wanted to do with the business Joke was happy and told her, “Wow, that’s a very good thing to do.

And she’s going to have a written agreement drafted. Forward it to her email. She and Tola are going to sign them with witnesses around. They shouldn’t sign without any witness. Or if they can wait, she’s going to be in Lagos by month end. Which was 3 weeks from the day Simi was calling her. They will do the signing.

But if they cannot wait, she will email it. Simi talked about it and said it’s better she bring the document physical so that they would sign. Joke was so happy and was so happy for her, too. And that was how they ended the call. 2 days later after Ayo warned her sister Simi she received a call from an event company in Lagos.

Staff appreciation day coming up. They needed 250 personalized gift box branded consistent and very professional. 250 boxes. This one is not a side hustle or doubt. That is millions staring in front of them. That was a real contract. The kind that required a proper vendor profile, a signed agreement, and a track record.

When Simi received that order, she was shocked and immediately told Tola about it. The day she was calling Tola to tell her about the good news Tola was with Chuma. They were in a restaurant eating lunch together. After Tola received that call, she was so happy. She then told Chuma the good news about the 250 boxes they just received as an order, and it’s a big deal.

Chuma was so happy, but all of a sudden, the smile on her face vanished. And she started saying some silly things towards Tola. Oh babe, so is this your business registered like in any anybody’s name? Tola replied, “No. No, we have not registered the business. But with this huge contract, we’re definitely registering the business.

” So, there is no registered bank name or bank accounts made with us. Tola still replied, “No, there is no registered name. I’ve told you before.” And what are you waiting for? Chuma said, “Immediately, what are you waiting for? I know someone that is do all these CAC certificates. Register the company immediately under your name and open the accounts.

Let everything be under your name. With that, you have control. Your apartment is the place that Simi used to make all these things. Her job is to make, but you, you’ve marketed these things so well. You guys have been getting customers through you. If I were you, I would grab the opportunity. I would grab it and register the business on my own name.

I won’t be sharing any business name with anybody. So that tomorrow will come now, someone will claim what they did not have. You better be smart about it. You know Simi, she’s a yes girl. She doesn’t have any problem. She would agree without any problem.” But Tola thought about it. Uh, Chuma, see, this is good though, but it’s risky.

If I do it, I don’t know how Simi will react. She might call me greedy or say I betrayed her by registering our business name personally by myself. But Chuma told her to go ahead. She convinced her and told her 1 million reason why the business had to be under her name, not under Simi’s name or under the two of them.

They cannot be together forever and one day the business will collapse. Choma did not ask her if she knows how to make everything inside that box. Choma did not ask her if she knows 1/4 of the things that was made. All she wanted was the money, the influx. That has always been the kind of person she wanted. And she had envied their friendship for a long time.

And that was a very perfect opportunity to crack that friendship. Antola, the foolish girl, listened. Choma immediately gave her the contact of who to contact so that she can register the business name. Antola did that behind Simi’s back. What do you think Simi will do when she finds out that Antola, her bestie for years, actually betrayed her? Let us find out in the next part of this story.

The Hidden Price of Friendship: When Greed Shatters a Lifetime Bond

Article:

In the quiet corners of every village and the bustling avenues of every city, there are stories that linger, whispering truths about the fragile nature of trust and the devastating power of misplaced loyalty. One such story is that of Simei, a young woman whose journey was marked by both remarkable talent and a fatal flaw: the inability to see the shadows behind the smiles of those she held most dear. Her tale, inextricably linked to the enigmatic gift of her younger sister, Aayor, serves as a poignant reminder that sometimes, the ones who warn us against our own choices are the only ones who truly have our best interests at heart.

Aayor was never an ordinary child. From her earliest years, she stood apart, wrapped in a solitude that left her family baffled and, at times, deeply concerned. Labeled “autistic” by a medical system that could only define her behavior rather than understand her soul, Aayor preferred the company of her own thoughts, often talking to herself or reading in quiet seclusion. Her parents, initially frantic, eventually came to accept her as a “special child,” leaving her to navigate the world in her own way. Yet, it was this very estrangement from the mainstream of human interaction that seemed to sharpen a different kind of perception in Aayor—a foresight that bordered on the supernatural.

The first hint of this extraordinary gift occurred on Aayor’s eighteenth birthday. Her mother, intent on celebrating, planned to go out and procure a cake and gifts. But as she prepared to leave, Aayor—usually silent and withdrawn—blocked her path with uncharacteristic intensity. She locked the doors, held the keys with a strength that defied her frame, and insisted that her mother stay inside. She spoke with a boldness that unnerved her mother, urging her to rest and claiming that celebrating a birthday was secondary to the simple act of survival.

Hours later, the reason became chillingly clear. A catastrophic accident occurred at the very bakery her mother had intended to visit. The tragedy was total; there were no survivors. The realization that Aayor had, in effect, saved her life fundamentally shifted the family’s understanding of their “special” daughter. While others dismissed Aayor’s behavior as merely a quirk of her condition, her mother knew better. Aayor was a beacon, a guardian, and someone whose words were not to be ignored.

Yet, this wisdom did not easily pass to Simei, Aayor’s older sister. Simei was a woman of the world—social, hardworking, and deeply devoted to her best friend, Tola. Their friendship, forged in the fires of secondary school and cemented during their time at the University of Lagos, seemed unshakeable. They were the pair that finished each other’s sentences, shared every secret, and trusted each other without question. Even when others like Chama and Jo joined their circle, the bond between Simei and Tola remained the bedrock of Simei’s life.

Simei was the creative genius of the duo. Talented, industrious, and perpetually seeking a stable path, she was the one who conceived of the idea that would eventually change their lives: custom-curated gift boxes. When they sent one to their friend Chama for her birthday, the response was overwhelming. Strangers clamored for the contact information, and suddenly, the “side hustle” had the potential to become a thriving business. But in the midst of this excitement, the cracks began to show. Tola, though supportive, was an observer of Simei’s talent, not the creator. Yet, when the business began to trend online, Tola effortlessly stepped into the role of a partner, grabbing the opportunity with a fervor that bordered on opportunism.

When Simei returned home to share the news with her family, Aayor was waiting. Her warnings were stark, direct, and unyielding. She warned Simei that her friends would betray her and that she must be careful. She urged her sister to keep her talents hidden, to work behind the scenes, and, most importantly, to secure a written agreement to protect her interests. “If you do not do this,” Aayor insisted, her voice trembling with the weight of her foresight, “you are going to cry.”

Simei, caught in the whirlwind of incoming orders and the intoxication of success, chose to overlook her sister’s advice. She trusted Tola. She believed their years of shared history were a safeguard against any possible malice. She even allowed the business to operate out of Tola’s apartment, viewing it as a convenience rather than a strategic mistake. While Simei handled the creative direction, the design, and the customer relations, Tola coordinated the logistics, creating a dynamic that seemed symbiotic but was, in reality, dangerously lopsided.

The catalyst for the ultimate betrayal was a massive contract—an order for 250 personalized gift boxes from an event company. It was the kind of opportunity that could define a career. When Simei joyfully shared the news with Tola, Tola was at a lunch meeting with Chama. Chama, harboring a secret envy of the friendship between Simei and Tola, saw the perfect moment to sew discord. She urged Tola to register the business solely under her own name, convincing her that because the business operated out of her apartment, she was the one in control. She played upon Tola’s greed, whispering that Simei was merely a “yes girl” who wouldn’t put up a fight.

Blind to the fact that Tola lacked the creative capacity to produce the work, and hungry for the influence that came with the contract, Tola followed Chama’s advice. She registered the company behind Simei’s back, setting the stage for a fracture that would not only destroy a business venture but dismantle a lifetime of shared memories.

As the story of Simei and Tola unfolds, it forces us to confront the uncomfortable reality of our own lives. How often do we ignore the intuition of those who know us best? How often do we mistake the closeness of a friend for the permanence of loyalty? Simei’s tragedy is not just in the loss of a business; it is in the shattering of a belief system. She invested her heart, her talent, and her future into a bond she thought was untouchable, only to find that when the stakes were high enough, the mask of friendship could be stripped away with terrifying ease.

The tale of these two women is a stark reminder that when we stand on the threshold of success, we must be as protective of our integrity as we are of our dreams. It is an exploration of the painful price of naivety and a testament to the fact that the most dangerous threats to our prosperity often wear the face of the person we invite to sit at our table. Whether Simei will find the strength to rise from the ashes of this betrayal remains to be seen, but her story serves as a warning for us all: listen to the voices of those who truly love you, and always, always protect the work of your hands. For in the end, it is not just the business that is at stake—it is the very truth of who we are, and who we trust, in a world that rarely rewards the innocent.
