Davido steals show at aide’s father’s burial reception in Benin

BENIN CITY – NIGERIA’s afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido was the centre of attraction during the reception in Benin City for the burial of the father of one of his aides, Israel Afeara popularly called Israel DMW.

When he took over the microphone, fans danced and sang along as he wowed them with his performance and it took the intervention of private security personnel to halt fans who wanted to have a feel of their idol by climbing onto the stage.

The 30BG gang were present at the occasion showering cash gifts on Israel, while his family members from all over the world made their presence felt.

Davido thanked his fans for being there, noting that it was good that he came to perform at the occasion to support Israel.

“It’s good to be here to support Israel and I thank everyone who showed up and showed us love at this time. I thank you once again.”

On his part, Israel thanked his boss for lighting up the burial reception with his performance, describing the afrobeat star as “the best boss I ever wish for.”

He also noted that the 30BG crew who showered him with love during the ceremony have once again proved that they could be relied upon at a time of grief.

He added, “I must thank my boss for showing up for me. The 30BG crew also deserves commendation while the support of family members, friends, associates and well wishers will remain etched in my memory.

At the ceremony, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku represented the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Also present were top politicians, A-list entertainers, business mogul, captain of industry, friends, extended family members and well wishers.
