The news broke on a Friday. Jaafar Jackson had signed on for a second film. The same role that took three years of his life. The same role that left him weeping on set. The same role that made him the most talked about actor in Hollywood. Everyone assumed he was finished. Everyone assumed one Michael Jackson movie was enough for a lifetime.

They were wrong. And the reason he said yes has nothing to do with money, fame, or awards. It has to do with a promise. to tell the story. There’s so much to tell Michael’s story. You can’t fit all into one movie. It’s possible I think impossible to tell in two hours. So, I’m I’m definitely looking forward to to seeing what will come about in that way.

And it’s definitely This is the story of why he went back. Part one told the triumph, the Motown days, the moonwalk, the Thriller years. Part two tells the reckoning. Jaafar said the sequel will give more insight into the child abuse allegations Michael faced in the 1990s. That is the chapter everyone else avoided.

Um some of the performances, uh a few songs when I was performing, but some of the locations we were at, I I definitely felt that.

I think some of the crew felt that as well. But, here’s the thing. It worked. Katherine Jackson watched the screen test and said two words, “Yes, Michael. It’s Michael.” Marlon Jackson declared that Jafaar did not imitate Michael. He became him. The audience gave the film 96%. It crossed a billion dollars worldwide.

He had silenced every critic who called him a nepotism baby. So, why risk it all again? Why not walk away at the top? Because of what the film did to his family, he watched 60 relatives pack into one screening room. He watched them laugh at the Jackson 5 scenes. He watched them cry when he appeared as the adult Michael.

He watched La Toya cry three times. He watched hugs and arguments and old wounds reopen. For one night, they were a family again. He wanted to give them the rest of the story. Seeing the story of your family in the beginning and my father just making sure he instilled certain work ethic in them and making sure they did everything perfectly.

And when you recall those days, it becomes emotional to you. And that’s basically what happened. Yeah. That’s amazing. What’s He also wanted to protect the record. The world had already decided who Michael Jackson was. Jafaar wanted to give them the chance to decide again. Basically, Murray was using the saline bag to hang the bottle of propofol from the stand, but also I think to hide it cuz he didn’t want anybody to know he was using propofol. So, to get an idea of just how crazy this is, the anesthetic drugs are all dangerous.

There is really no access outside of the healthcare setting. But telling the truth means showing the ugliness. The The police raid on Neverland, the handcuffs, the mug shot, the motorcade, the headlines that called him a monster before a single witness testified, the moment he was acquitted on all counts and still never recovered.
