Michael Jackson Biopic Part 2 Just Got a BIG Update! – dw
I mean, sound like a opportunity for a Jacksonverse to me. You know what I mean? Might have Jaafar pop in as a cameo, though. Oh. You know, maybe punching down in the in the eyes of some people. So, it’s a very delicate thing to talk to to include. have four other versions of the book that clock in at $950 each.
That make me cough. What? Chances are if you’re watching this video, you’ve seen the Michael Jackson biopic, and just like a me, you can’t wait for part two. Now, if you’re out there wondering, “When is a part two happening? What’s going on with it? What are we going to see?” Well, in today’s episode, we’re going to be going over just that.
We have some biopic sequel updates. We’re also going to be doing a shop with MJ fangirl segment where I talk to you guys about the hottest new Michael Jackson merchandise products out there and available. And we’re also going to be talking a little bit about Patreon and a recently released leaked rehearsal video from like 1995. So, we’re taking you way back.
I could not do this episode alone, you guys. You guys have been asking for him, okay? In the comments, you guys have been like, “Okay, this is the interviews are cool, but when is Randal coming back?” And here he is today. Randal. Ah, man, I don’t believe it. You’ve been hitting 50K, 100K lately, it feels like, you know, coincidentally, ever since I hit that notification bell.
So, I might have something to do with this. Good luck. You gave me good luck. [laughter] No, seriously, a few people did comment last few days, and I meant to screenshot and send it to you. They’re like, “Where’s our good friend Randal? Where’s Randal? Randal?” That is so funny. [laughter] Yeah, that’s cool.
Glad to be back with you. Yeah, and you know, Randal, it’s been a journey. I remember the first time they announced the biopic was even happening, we were talking about it. We talked about uh when they cast Jaafar. We watched and reacted to that first trailer. And we did an out of the theater reaction, and now here we are.
Again, this is probably the second or third time we’re talking about sequel updates. So, we actually have some concrete stuff now, though. Let’s get to it. Okay. So, first I want to let you guys know um that some of the sources we’re getting these from are going to be starting with the Variety magazine, which is pretty credible.
Uh and it it actually contains some information from the Lionsgate earnings call. Um so, let me just start by kind of reading a tidbit of what we have. So, according to a recent article in Variety, the studio hopes to begin production in late 2026 or early 2027. Lionsgate’s motion picture chief Adam Fogelson said on their recent earnings call, with the hopes of releasing the final product at the end of next year, so that means end of 2027 or in the first half of 2028.
And he went on to say, “We have a number of sequences, particularly some big musical sequences that were shot previously, that are almost sure to be incorporated. We’re multi-focused right now on how to make sure we can deliver at the right price, the biggest, best sequel. That is what the audience is going to want and deserve after the experience we gave them the first time.
” So, Randall, any thoughts on um the sequel? Are you excited to see it? Thoughts on the timing? I mean, who’s not excited to see it, you know, following the known quantity of a billion-dollar film? Um I think that what they mentioned in the article is true about them having footage already and just really shooting around it uh to make sure that they fill in the gaps.
Very curious to see what the narrative is going to be around the the essentially a second half of Michael’s life and and how they illustrate that. I do I was talking to some friends recently about the release date and how, you know, it them talking about shooting uh at the end of the year and trying to get it out by 2027. It would have been nice.
I’m glad that they put in that first half of 2028 because that essentially is like Michael’s 70th birthday year. Mhm. So, that would be, you know, kind of cool to to to consider. I also think about just their probably the other slate of projects and other studios plan projects and how they you know, studios navigate around these things to make sure they can get the highest return on investment because if, let’s say, a big Marvel movie comes out in uh late 2027, they might navigate around that and like release it a couple weeks later or a few
weeks before, whatever the case is. So, uh I am excited. Hopefully, we get um you know, just improves on the movie that we already saw, right? Like I have heard um feedback around it essentially just being like a collage of scenes and moments. So, curious to see if that approach is going to be taken in the second uh movie or if it’s going to be, you know, something a little bit more complex.
But, what do you think? Well, I’m I’m Well, obviously, yes, I agree with you that I’m very excited to see what they’re going to do with this second part. Um I do want them to dig a little deeper. Um you know, as as you’ve mentioned as and a lot of people have said, it was more like a celebration. Um and I think we didn’t really get to see uh the multifaceted human being that Michael Jackson is.
We saw a lot of the entertainer and a lot of those qualities that a lot of us, you know, fell in love with when we decided to become these big fans and learn more about him. We’re like, oh, these are really great qualities that he has and they showed those very, very clearly in the movie. But, what about the other part of Michael Jackson that we see that we don’t see behind the scenes? Does he ever get mad? Is he ever sad? I mean really he did a lot of smiling and a lot of fun stuff.
But really let’s get Let’s get to the meat and potatoes of who he is, you know? That’s what I want. him make him say something about the fish. Right. Right. Exactly. Get scandalous [laughter] for us for a second. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Like Michael wasn’t a Peter Pan figure. Like he was a man. So let’s see what the man was behind the magic.
Yes. So that’s what I’m hoping for. And you know what’s interesting is that Jaafar Jackson was recently on um the GQ Middle East cover not too long ago. And Solomon, if we can just bring up that picture because he did quite the interview. Um we’ll look at this picture and then another the next photo shows some of the other uh photos.

Uh pretty pretty pretty cool pics. Yes. Channeling his uncle. Okay. So I’m going to read some of the snippets if that’s okay with you Randall from what Jaafar had to say. Shoot. [laughter] Okay. So asked how much a sequel would sequel would delve into the criticisms and allegations Michael faced Jaafar explains that the screenplay’s in development and that he has no real say in the scope or story.
But he does know what he’d like to see. Now this is a quote. Jaafar says, “I think the second film will give even more insight from his point of view because at the end of the day the allegations are always from someone else’s.” He says choosing his words carefully but not sounding like he had rehearsed the response.
“It’s someone else’s story. It’s someone else’s idea of what it is and it’s mainly driven by an agenda. And that’s really the issue we’ve been having as a family not having Michael’s voice be heard. I think that’s very very important especially in the late years.” Now Randall this brings me back to something that uh we talked about a few episodes probably a few months ago now when we had seen somewhere that originally they said that there this was a narrated movie where Michael was narrating it.
And I remember you you were mentioning too like okay okay maybe the narration could work in the beginning but then do we want to put words in Michael’s mouth later on? How does that work? Right. Yeah, I mean I think there is even without the narration you can still put it in Michael’s voice, right? Like it’s not a it’s not a literal thing to be taken uh in that way.
It can be uh his reaction to the news and he can be you know what what you know from accounts from people that were in his life at the time like what what his reactions were and what recourse he tried to to go through to to make sure he remedied all these things. So uh he’s right. You know a lot of a lot of people when they hear about these things it is not really with Michael’s voice in mind.
So that would be I’d be curious to see how that manifest. I think at the same time uh you know something like that can be taken as you know maybe punching down in the in the eyes of some people. So it’s a very delicate thing to talk to to include. So I’m curious like I said to see how it how it pans out but either way I think Ja’far in his in his uh desire to make sure his his uncle is portrayed accurately I think he’s going to deliver no matter what cuz I think so far based on his performance in the first one uh he delivered.
Oh yeah absolutely. And I’m also curious to see how he will portray Michael’s personality as he matures because right now Ja’far is around the age that he was portraying Michael as I think. Um how does he portray a much older Michael Jackson? Do they get to the point where he’s a father of these kids now? Like what happens with that? Yeah, I mean, they’re the movie the first movie also kind of set up uh a lot of things that probably will come to pass in the second movie.
Remember that scene where Joe’s in his bedroom is like, “Oh, you want to be an adult and have and you know, not have your family around you to take care of you cuz they don’t know you and just see the effects of that and how Michael wanted to uh be his own artist and kind of be uh absolute in his decision-making to his detriment in some points.
Right. So, I’m sure we’re going to see some of that in the second movie. Well, I want to go ahead and read uh another quote uh from Jaafar I thought was really interesting uh where he talks about Michael and like the essence of who he is as a human being. He says, “This first film focuses on Michael from his roots.
So, you get that idea of who he was before he had all these success and became the icon that people are familiar with. You understand who he was as a human being first because at the end of the day, that’s who he was in the ’90s until he passed. He never changed that purity, that sense of always wanting to find the good in other people and no matter all the stuff he went through, how he was treated, what things were said about him, he never stopped treating people with kindness, he never stopped believing and wanting to look for the good in people
even though he was broken, his heart stayed the same and I hope this is felt throughout the second movie. So, Mic drop. Yeah, right. Like that’s what I think that’s what we’re all hoping for. So, that’s nice to hear that the man that’s actually portraying him is also hoping for that same thing. Uh last thing from Jaafar, what Jaafar likes to stress about Michael is that of all the other adaptations, this is the only one to center on his actual POV.
There’s been so many stories about Michael, told about Michael from so many different people. This is to tell Michael’s story finally from the point of view of himself. To that end, he’s excited for for the opportunities Michael II will bring. picture. There’s so much more to Michael’s story. There’s so much more to who Michael was and how he expressed himself, Jaafar says.
So, yeah, I mean, I I saw for sure that this was totally from Michael’s POV cuz there were a lot of characters missing or that they faded to the background. Like, I also, as a huge Jackson 5 fan, I just have to say, like, the the brothers faded so far into the background in this movie. Like, the likenesses were not even similar to the real people.
You don’t think so? I don’t think so at all, actually. Maybe I’m just have too high of expectations, though. Uh no, I think you have the right to be I think I think they were I think they were for for a movie of this scale I thought I thought they passed muster, given all the available actors that needed to be of a certain fidelity for a movie like this.
I thought they passed muster. Okay. Well, I know that I also heard uh Prince Jackson recently did an interview and we don’t have any clips, but if you look, um he did it with Extra TV, where he talked about the biopic and they kind of got into Janet and why she didn’t want to be a part of this one.
And he said, she might be or they they they kind of let him into this, but they said, “Oh, Janet is looking into her own biopic.” So, that is also interesting because it’s like, well, then what kind of role does Michael play in that? Or does he not play any at all? Because he wasn’t because the estate weren’t able to use her image, what is going to happen on the reverse side? I mean, sound like a opportunity for a Jackson verse to me, you know what I mean? Might have Jaafar pop in as a cameo.
Uh Oh. uh Based on Yeah, based on like the time frame that they’re that they’re shooting, right? Like, get some Rhythm Nation in there and they have Michael uh come on set. Remember that moment in the uh home private home movies where Michael was working on Captain EO and she was like, “Oh, I really want to do military stuff.
” And he was like, “All right, I could kill you, but I’m going to let you have this.” And it turned into Rhythm Nation. Like, I would love to have that, you know, uh illustrated in a in a biopic like that just as like a funny thing. Not to really rob Janet of her agency really, but just to have some Michael inclusion really. That would be so cool. Michaelverse.
Yeah. Oh, man. Well, those are really the big updates. Um, if anybody has any other updates in the comments down below, basically, we would love for you to leave them. If you have any updates, keep sending them to me. Some people are really great about DMing me and emailing me updates they see about the movie that they want us to talk about.
So, continue to do that, you guys, and we’ll keep talking about it until 2028. That’s right. And then we’ll be doing another out-of-theater review. Um, [laughter] and hopefully, by then, Solomon would have seen Yeah, I know. I need to I need to I need to just break down and go see the movie. What what latest sci-fi movie is the reason why he hasn’t seen Michael yet this time? Oh, I’m uh I’m trying to catch up on that show Invasion.
See? Yeah. See? Again, he probably ain’t got to see it cuz he going to be in the second one, too. Oh, that’s We ain’t You know, that’s why [laughter] he’s playing coy. He’s playing coy. Yeah, I was I was directing from from behind from backstage. See? You know what, though? Somebody did comment and was like, “Why do you guys keep joking about Solomon being in the movie?” Okay, to give people context, Solomon sang um sang vocals on Can You Feel It.
He was part of the children’s choir. So, so he was actually He met Michael Jackson and sang with him and was directed by him. So, that’s why we’re always like, “Oh, you were in the movie.” Yeah, yeah. [laughter] Right. You remember that kid, right? That was Solomon. Like y’all got to look at the movie. It’s on streaming now.
You can pause it and be like that’s who it is. you got to have people really looking now. [laughter] Oh, man. That was hilarious. [sighs] Well, yes. Hopefully, yeah, by that time he would have seen that. Anyway, we could just go on with this forever. We got to get to the shop with MJ fangirl. All right, you guys.
So, if you didn’t know, shopping MJ fangirl is a brand new segment where we just go through some of the recent products. Randall and I are going to talk through some of them and you can always shop these products by clicking on the YouTube video. It’s shoppable by clicking in the description or visiting my LTK by shopltk.
com/explore/mjfangirl to get all the links. First of all, let’s go to our first product. Um King of Style by Michael Bush. King of Style 2, excuse me, by Michael Bush. So, this is a brand new book that’s going to be coming out by Michael Bush, who was Michael who along with his partner Dennis Tompkins, they dressed Michael Jackson for several decades throughout his career.
Um Randall, I want to bring you in because number one, I want to ask you if you have King of Style number one, what you think about this. Um yeah, I have the first King of Style. I wish I would have thought enough to bring it for the stream, but yes, like trust me when I tell you I have the book and I love the book because it’s such a fascinating journey to to go through and see what his evolution was going from, you know, the glove, which I think was like Bill Whitten or somebody before when Michael Bush and and Dennis Tompkins came around
to, you know, his his dress during the Bad era and then searching for the next glove and what that looks like. I’m not going to spoil it if you haven’t read the book, but he put it to them and said, “Okay, I want y’all to create the next glove.” So, just seeing like the behind the scenes of how they achieve certain looks and performance of the clothes because he was with Michael’s performance, so he needed to move the clothes move a certain way.
So, if there’s more goodness like that to fill a book, then I’m going to purchase said book to learn more about the the work behind again the magic. Yes, and we do have a clip a short clip of uh Michael Bush that I would like to share. It’s a little uh teaser about what the book’s going to be about, so we’ll watch that and come back.
Michael’s clothes have to be as interesting on a hanger as they are on him and they have to function. Every time you did a project, he’d look at you and say, “Now, I know you can do this for me.” Every time that you did another costume, it was a little more larger than life. It went from cotton jacket and pants to patent leather.
Michael said, “We didn’t invent military uniforms. They’ve been around for a hundreds of years. We’re just going to make it rock and roll.” I’m hoping that the fans, collectors can look at this book and find someone that inspires them to become who they want to be. All right. Um that seems very interesting. Tell me what your thoughts are about this book.
What are your reflections as this is about to come out? So, I loved the first book. I bought it when it came out, uh and I thought it was just so it was such a unique look at the behind the scenes of working with Michael Jackson. Um one of my favorite parts is just when he talks about the beginning of working with Michael. I believe that first time was with Captain EO and the pants kept ripping and he had to do something to configure the pants in a certain way where they wouldn’t rip.
Um just stuff like that, learning about the different fabrics and and the way they moved and how it the clothing almost was a part of the dance. Like I loved hearing that and that was the kind of intricate detail that I was seeking after Michael passed away and I was like I I craved to learn more. Okay. Yeah, I mean, I’m looking forward to more funny stories.
Mhm. Uh because that was really like a joy to read in the book. So yeah, bring it on. Hopefully and there’s like multiple different special versions of the book. Yes. So let’s talk about that because so there’s the the regular coffee table book. I think it’s $100. Mhm. be $99.99, one of those.
Um but then they have four other versions of the book that clock in at $950 each. That make me cough. What? [laughter] Ooh wee. $950 each. Um so let me just dip Hey, you never know what people want to spend money on, but it’s very steep price wise. Uh from what I can tell, Michael hasn’t worn any of these, but they do include official original swatches from some of the costumes that were iconic from different eras.

Uh let’s pull that photo back up. Um you see uh the Dangerous tour that that Dangerous tour jacket with the like that iridescent fabric, a History tour jacket, the Bad tour shirt, uh and then a History teaser. You see just little swatches of fabric. That’s what’s going to be included that make it a like a collector’s edition for the 950.
I really don’t know. I don’t know who’s going to buy this. Comment down below if you guys are going to buy this. I remember that just remember that reminds me. Sorry, you can bring Randall back. Randall, that reminds me of I used to watch Wendy Williams a lot and she’d be like, “Clap if you care.” [laughter] Clap if you’re going to buy the $9.
50 version. Yo, you are so New York. That is so funny. [laughter] Oh, shout out to my New York City homegirl Wendy Williams. Hope she’s doing good out there. Um but yes, I I love the fact that Michael Bush is coming out with this book again and I’m ready. I’m ready to see uh it when it comes out.
I believe it’s available night right now for uh pre-order on julianspublishing.com. So, go ahead and check that out, you guys. We have here and this is uh Randall’s probably favorite item. We We did go over this last time, but now it’s officially out, I believe. This is the Pop Michael Jackson Bad Tour Funko Pop. And I’m excited for this.
I mean, you know what the thing is is though, I don’t really have a way to display my Funko Pops, but if you’re somebody that has like a nice or cool display, send me a picture. I would love to see how you guys are displaying these cuz I know a lot of us Michael Jackson fans get excited about these and I want to know what do we do after with them.
Randall, any thoughts about the Bad Tour Funko? I mean, I got to cop it. I only have like three from the first wave. I think it’s the I think it’s the Grammy outfit when he won all the awards at the 1984 Grammy Awards. Then I have Beat It, then I have Billie Jean. Okay. So, uh I didn’t get anything after that.
So, this is probably going to be my fourth one and this is special to me because the song that got me back into my fandom was Another Part of Me. And this is probably the I mean, he performed it on the Bad Tour, of course, but when I have to see that outfit, I think of that song, which got me into the fandom.
So, that’s probably why if it’s out now, then I have to go cop it after we finish recording. Yes. Yes, and make sure you’re shopping the shopping the video everybody. As we’re talking about these products, they are going to be pop up as links on the YouTube video. And if you’re on Spotify or Amazon Music, Apple Podcast, it’ll be in the description.
So on to the next product, which is a super exciting item. This is a Master Cut Relic card. It’s a collaboration It’s very very exclusive. It’s a collaboration between MJ Market, who’s a good friend to the show and Collector’s Chance. This actually is a containing an authentic worn pajama top swatch from this photo that’s right here.
Randall, do you remember the Vibe photo shoot? Yes. Like this I remember cuz he also had another shot where I think Paris was in it. Um in that photo shoot and he had another one with a blazer and he was sitting in a theater. This is These both I think were This one for sure I think was sitting in the theater. So yeah, I remember this.
And this was probably right before I became a real fan when he did the NSYNC performance. So I had to go back and add this to my education. So for those that were there and were fans at this moment, I know y’all remember that photo. Yeah, it was it was a really cool to just see him in a magazine that you could get on the newsstands at that time.
Uh this is back in the early 2000s. It might just be 2000 or 2001. Yes. But this actually contains a real piece of Michael Jackson’s worn um clothing from this photo shoot. Yeah, I know the uh the gold pants Brigade. They about to open this and and sniff all up and down this little [laughter] worn pants swatch. So I know.
It’s like Y’all enjoy. It’s like what do people do with the Like do they actually open it? Do they display it? Again, if you’re somebody that has one of these, comment down below. And always check out MJ Market. I I love MJ Market. I love Jonathan. He’s super knowledgeable just about value of things, types of items that are available that are out there.
He vets all of the items, so you don’t have to worry about getting something from eBay that’s like got water damage when you try to open the vinyl, it doesn’t open. You don’t have to worry about any of that. Jonathan has got you covered. Use code MJ fangirl for money off your first order.
And I don’t get any kickback or anything from that. I’m just saying that cuz I really believe in MJ Market and I love what they do. So go ahead and check that out. Next product is I’m trying to get y’all ready for Halloween. That’s I mean, it’s coming up in less than 6 weeks. No. Maybe about 6 weeks at this time. Halloween.
Who out there is going to be Michael Jackson for Halloween? Well, you can get officially licensed by the Michael Jackson estate costumes available now on costumes.com. They have Thriller and a girls version of Billie Jean. So thoughts, Randall? Remember when I told you that the Michael movie was made for people that wear the Thriller jacket with the Billie Jean glove.
Remember when I told you that? I do. I’m very glad that they are entering in the market and saying, “Yo, whatever else you see online when it comes to the Michael Jackson fits, that ain’t right. [laughter] You’re doing wrong. You’re doing wrong.” Aw. So yes. So I’m very happy to see these. So I was looking when the pictures came up, I was like, “All right, I see the Thriller jacket.
What’s on the left hand? What’s on the right hand?” So um I’m very I’m curious like if the if making like a mask was kind of out of the price range cuz you know when it comes to product development, their strategy around like the price point and what you want to what you want to hit, what kind of demographic you want to hit cuz that would have been cool to include for I mean, you don’t he wasn’t a werewolf when he had the Thriller thing on, but still just like as an aside.
So But that’s a good point cuz I remember maybe it’s got to be like almost six or seven years ago. I had an officially licensed costume and it had a mask. It had the werewolf mask with the letterman jacket. Mhm. And it was like a deluxe costume so the the val- the fabric was nicer. The the mask was still good.
I wish I didn’t give that stuff away. I just was like I don’t need this anymore, but that could have been my costume for this year. Wow, are you bugging? You doing wrong. [laughter] Oh, man. Sorry, guys. Oh, wow. Speaking of you doing wrong, can I just can I bring this up? I want to thank everybody for all the viewership they’ve given for that Casper candidate interview.
Over 110,000 views and I was doing wrong cuz I didn’t ask Casper about that part of the bad video and he was in bad. How did I miss that? watch that. I watched the whole thing and it didn’t occur to me either. So that’s crazy. Like to for him to had that refrain at the end going to church. Yeah. Like I missed opportunity. Yeah, going to have to get him on on the video real quick to do a short.
Yeah. [sighs] All right. Well, anyway, so get ready for Halloween, you guys. Check out HalloweenCostumes.com. I get the costumes from here every year. I’ve actually done a video with them like 10 years ago now and if you want to see an embarrassing video of me pretending to be Michael Jackson and Ola Ray like playing both characters wearing costumes from HalloweenCostumes.
com, just look up Michael Jackson costume MJ fangirl and you’ll see a treat. All right. Next. Number ones on vinyl. Number ones is a big album for those of us who are millennials and remember when this came out. They had four different covers. I believe we probably all got all four. Now it’s available on vinyl and it’s on this beautiful opaque white two LP vinyl set.
Randall, are you a vinyl collector? Yes, absolutely. I buy vinyl if the whole album is fire. Like I don’t have to get up and move the needle. So, I would say this likely passes that test. I was always curious as to why they added Break of Dawn on this album because it wasn’t released as a single, but I love the song. Like that’s probably my favorite one of my favorite songs from the album Invincible.
But, yeah. Like I have other behind-the-scenes commentary and observations. I’mma leave that out. But, yes. Like good stuff, but but, yes. I I’ll probably look into this. Okay, that’s a good point. Maybe they thought that they were going to be releasing it and it was going to hit number one and then it just never got released or something.
Could be. Next is this new shirt on Etsy. Actually, I’m wearing it today. How? That’s what that is. Yeah, how? Um, how cool is this? A teenage Michael Jackson. I love this era of Michael. I especially love it because we had that interview with Daryl Sentolo who was his friend around this time when he was 16, 17, 18 and she told us all about how it was to be friends with a young teenage Michael Jackson.
Just so much so much so much that he had to look forward to and I I love it. I love this shirt and they sell all sorts of stuff on this Etsy shop. It’s called Love Michael Jackson. Um, and they are actually they actually have King of Pop coloring books. That’s how I first saw them.
Um, and they uh, also have really great notebooks, stationery products and shirts. So, definitely go and check those out. I I it. I’ve already washed this and worn it a few times and still looks good. Hey, Sal is laughing at me, but that’s important cuz some of these shirts out here, some of them you wash them one time and it’s like it disintegrates.
Yeah. Anyway, next item is that going to be our last item for this uh Oh, no, we have one two more one after one more after this. This is Thriller on vinyl. Okay, so this is for the people out there who loves Thriller and don’t mind having another copy. For those of us who have been around for a while, we probably have 10 copies of Thriller already.
Randall, would you get this for the uh for the new like design that it’s coming in? Look and look, I was going to say for those of us that like living on the wild side and having a design on the vinyl, this one’s for you. So, as for me, I already have Thriller at least once, probably twice. I and I got a picture disc, the the picture vinyl.
Yeah. So, I probably am not the demographic they’re aiming for. They’re going to re-release this till the end of time. Yeah. Let’s be clear. So, you know, for the new fans, enjoy this. Uh I’m not going to be looking at my vinyl when I play it. I’m going to be sitting down, enjoying a meal, talking to friends, listening to this in the background. So, y’all enjoy that.
[laughter] Well, yes, you guys and make sure you go get this and cop it. It comes out at the end of October. I think it’s October 30th, so right before Halloween. It’s available on Walmart, on Target, lots of different places. And they actually also have a liquid-filled vinyl that it’s only available I saw on like sonymusic.com.
That is actually cool. I’ve never seen something like that. Liquid-filled? Mhm, okay. Okay. So, I’ll to look into it. Anyway, yeah, I I I I think it’s interesting that they re-released these things because uh they they try to make it different, you know? They try to make it different.
I don’t know if it’s different enough for me, like like kind of like you were saying, cuz I actually have two of my vinyls here. Two of my Thrillers right here, and I’m Yeah, anyway. Last item. Last item 2027 calendar, um available for pre-order on mjvibe.com. I’m not sure where else to get this. Every time I go into like a Barnes & Noble or one of those calendar stands, they never have Michael.
So, I probably will be pre-ordering this from mjvibe. Randall, what are your thoughts? I mean, I I mean, I’ve been aware of Michael Jackson calendars in the past. Y’all know me, Bad head, even though I got this Dangerous shirt on, Bad head. So, this is something that I’ll probably get.
I’ve seen commentary about this and how people say they just use the same images every time. Yeah. But, this one looks to have the branding from the Bad 25 uh packaging from 2012. So, which I also loved. I loved that entire like project re-release. So, I’m probably going to cop this. All right. Well, hey, you never know. At that point, maybe we’ll be able to mark down like the premiere date of that next that next biopic sequel.
Mhm. I even though I think it’s going to be 2028, but who am I? Anyway, next up, I want to talk about uh a newly released leak. Randall, have you Actually, you’re the one who told me about this. Mhm. Tell us a little bit about this video. So, what you’re about to see is behind-the-scenes look at the rehearsals for the 1995 MTV VMAs, where he performed a medley of his hits including Dangerous and Earth Song not Earth Song, Dangerous and You Are Not Alone, excuse me. So, we’ve seen a little bit of this
in Black or White, but there’s some of it that we haven’t seen. So, if you haven’t seen it, you’re in for a treat. All right, let’s roll the clip. Some of us like to take that wild walk on the wild side. And for those of us who like living dangerously this one’s for you. That was You go first. Well, I just have to say, number one, first thing I noticed was just the hair pulled back looked so different.
And I’m kind of like that was cool. Why didn’t he wear it like that? Even though I’m not I’m not going to nitpick, but still, I liked how his hair was pulled back and he was in work mode. It’s really interesting also to see um Michael going backwards and performing songs like like seeing him perform seeing to himself Rock With You in the mid ’90s is just such a cool experience to me uh cuz we rarely saw behind-the-scenes it things uh videos like that from him.
Everything was always so curated. So, I It also begs the question like where does this come from? Who had this footage that they’ve released it like this? And why is it all cut up? Like where where can I get the full version? I think of about three things I want to say. One, what you just said, which is him, you know, performing older songs around this time of his career cuz the only thing that I remember him performing that’s around the same time at this stage was Working Day and Night on the Dangerous Tour.
And him talking to Janet and saying like I wish I could add old older hits, but I got so many hits. Like I got so many hits. I can only do so much. Um the second thing was like you said the hair. Um and then the third thing is reminds me of a story that I heard at a seminar once where one of his old engineers was tasked with helping to uh run that live performance at the MTV VMAs ’95 and the way that it was going they actually had to like take the songs out and push them in or whatever to like make them go in sequence like that. So
it’s not a like a pre-recorded track. Like they are apparently and if I’m getting the story right Wow. and if I’m getting it wrong somebody in the comments correct me let me know but that he was saying if I recall like they had to change it from uh uh what was his first song he performed? Uh Uh The Way You Make Me Feel.
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, The Way You Make Me Feel, then it went into uh Scream in the in the live performance but it you saw it went to Rock With You before that. So I don’t know if they didn’t put it in in that time or that he decided previous to that that he you know was going to uh take it out or whatever but that’s the story that I recall.
So when I see rehearsals like that I think of the stories like that that I heard in the seminar to say oh it’s more Wow. connective tissue to what they were sharing with us. Yeah. How cool though to that to see that you know even after all these years that there’s still things that we haven’t seen that come to the surface and that we’re able to talk about.
Uh I it it I just remember being uh in high school and watching this DVD over and over because the history Mhm. I believe it was History 2 DVD. It had this performance. cover. Yes. And at that time I really wasn’t watching MTV Awards or anything like that to have known. I don’t know how old I was.
I don’t even know I wasn’t even 10 when he performed that. But But to look back at it and to now see like all these years later I’m we’re getting footage from behind the scenes like that’s such a gift. So glad that he recorded so much of this. Glad that whoever had it shared it. Hopefully share more. Yeah, I think the more years that pass the more that we like to see how these moments were made.
You know, just to And it doesn’t reduce our appreciation for what we experienced and what we love to see. It just adds to it if anything. Absolutely. Well, if you see any more behind the scenes videos, please send them my way and let’s talk about it again. You know me. I got you covered. [laughter] And in the comments, what do you guys think? Like what do you guys think about the this this this footage that have had us had that has come out? I would love to know what your feelings are, if you even know the source of where this came
from, cuz I’m so curious I’m always curious to know like where where does this all of a sudden just drop? And then whoever had it edited it together. Can we just see it by itself, you know? Randall, everybody, when I started MJ Fangirl TV, it was just a way for me to express my love and admiration for one of my favorite artists, right? I used to go on trips.
I would go to locations and do like travel vlogs. I would do reaction videos, many of them with Randall. And then um started to get into this more podcast style video. And over the years this has grown into like a really incredible community. But now on Patreon, I’m opening it up uh as a donation page because a lot of you guys have been asking, MJ Fangirl, how can we support? There’s so much that goes into creating a show like this, whether it’s from procuring guests to equipment, softwares, everything.
So many different things that go into creating this show and I really couldn’t do it without a lot of the patron supporters that have been donating through the years. And now I want to open it up and kind of relaunch it to you guys because I want to keep bringing you guys these stories and the best way that I can do that is that we work together as a community and I appreciate all the love.

It’s just that now finally YouTube is acknowledging all the effort and all the work, so. and thank you, Randal, because you’ve always you’ve been there you’ve been here since pretty much the beginning.

Yeah, so just a little bit of behind the scenes of some of the work that I do, lessons I’ve learned, stories I have, just storing those up so I can, you know, do some other stuff in in addition to my LEGO artistry.
So, thank you for kind of the the kick, not with the left leg, but with the right. [laughter] I love it. Well, I also got to tell people, speaking of LEGO, if you have Hulu, be sure to check out season 2 of LEGO Masters because if you’re looking at Randal and you’re like, his face looks so familiar.” It’s cuz you all saw him on TV.
