To to your movie, you’re amazing in that film. Ja’far is LIKE THE PERFORMANCE THAT HE DID IS is like none other. It was one of the most sensitive sort of respectful, beautiful things I’ve ever seen. And you could see every bit of sweat that he put into those movements and that voice and and embodying the soul of of Michael Jackson.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. He he blew me away. So, that was a real special moment. I thought Ja’far was amazing. If that boy don’t get nominated for Thanks, man. I don’t think there’s a nephew in my family that could play me like that. Ja’far, his nephew who’s playing him, I I kind of was seeing a lot of it through his eyes.

What that must feel like for him to be playing his, you know, his uncle. And Ja’far worked his butt off, man. He was training for several years before cameras even started rolling. So, it was just really incredible to to kind of see him do his thing. And I’m not saying that because he’s my nephew. That’s Jermaine’s son. Yes. And I’m saying that because it’s true.

I looked I looked at a lot of artists who wanted to do this and you know, and they were out there imitating Michael. And they were good. 2,000 people tried But Ja’far wasn’t imitating Michael. He became Michael. And that’s the Before Ja’far Jackson ever stepped in front of the cameras, people were already asking the same question.

Who could play Michael Jackson? Not just look like him, not just wear the costumes or copy the moonwalk, but actually make audiences believe they were watching the most famous performer in history. Graham had did a early hair and makeup test and then Bob on the set one of the films we were working on in Italy showed it to me.

And I thought, “Wait, did you work with Michael Jackson, man? Like, this was recent.” And he goes, “That’s not That’s not Michael. That’s Ja’far.” And I was like, “Oh, I got to meet Graham.” Michael’s fans know every movement, every pose, every expression, and they could recognize even the smallest mistake.

That meant Jaafar was facing a challenge that almost no actor had faced before. He was not being compared with another actor. He was being compared with Michael himself. I’m about to meet Mike.” And then all of a sudden you see the crowd start to go into a little bit of a frenzy and my security comes over and they grab me and I’m like, “You got to move. We got to move.

” And I’m like, “No, but I got to meet Mike.” They’re like, “Sir, we got to move now.” He was left completely speechless after the screening. He shared just two words, “I am speechless.” Which is a powerful reaction from someone known for his eloquence, suggesting the experience was overwhelming and went far beyond his expectations.

Stevie Wonder’s connection to Michael Jackson ran deep, spanning decades of friendship and collaboration. They worked together on multiple projects. Their bond was so strong that at Michael’s memorial service, Wonder became emotional and said, “This is a moment I wished I didn’t live to see come.” This is a moment that I wished that I didn’t live to see come.

But as much as I can say that and mean it, I do know that God is good. Stevie went to a private screening of Michael’s biopic. After screening, Stevie asked to meet Jaafar and praise him personally. No cameras were set up to capture the moment, but everyone in the room witnessed it.

And what’s so just amazing to me is that I forgot I was watching Jaafar. I actually thought I was watching my brother. So, that showed he delivered on his part. Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, is the emotional center of the family. I discovered that Michael was very talented when he was just about two or three years old.

Michael had a lot of rhythm, and he loved to dance. I think he was born dancing. She was moved by the movie and personally came to the screening of the film. During the screening, she was reportedly heard repeating her son’s name, “My Michael.” She personally thanked Jafaar for giving us Michael again, showing how deeply his performance connected with her personal memories of her son.

So, what does your mother think of the movie? Has she had a chance to see it? Mother has seen it, and mother’s here tonight. She’s not doing the carpet, but she’s here tonight. She loves it. Chris Tucker is a true friend of Michael Jackson. He appeared with him in the You Rock My World music video. He was there in Michael’s world. He saw the man up close. He was so impressed that he watched the film multiple times. He wanted to experience it again and again. His reaction showed that Jaafar had created a compelling entertaining experience that people would want to revisit and SHARE WITH OTHERS.

YOU GOT TO GO SEE THE MICHAEL MOVIE, MAN. I don’t saw it twice. I’m going back to see it again. It’s the best movie I ever saw after Rush Hour. I mean, it’s a great movie. When someone who knew Michael personally calls the biopic one of the best films he has ever seen, that carries real weight.

He saw the film twice, then went back a third time. He told his followers to go see this movie. No hesitation. I don’t but now I would it was nerve-racking to actually dance for and with Michael.

I can remember rehearsals and I mean, I don’t normally go all out in rehearsals, dude. I was going all out, singing at the top of my lungs, dancing harder than I’ve ever danced, sweat flying all over the room. He was like, “Man, you really have a talent.” That was one of the greatest compliments that I could ever get.

I went to the set and the Well, the first two three weeks they shot the the concert scene. So, my first day was watching the Victory Tour and they were doing Heartbreak Hotel, which is not in the film, but and Jaafar was unbelievable.

The I had gotten the benefit of seeing Jaafar’s kind of transformation over phone, like pictures that I had seen on a phone or a computer, but the first time that I saw him in person in his hair and makeup was really an

emotional shock because I had not seen my father in a long time and to see him Jaafar just embodied him and brought him back in that moment and it was difficult to maintain and keep composure because I really just wanted to give him a hug in that moment, but our one of our early camera tests really was um it’s hard to explain what it what it felt like because I hadn’t seen my dad in a long time and for a split second he was there in front of me and my cousin Jaafar really worked his butt off to bring that authenticity and carry

himself that way. As a member of the Jackson 5 and Michael’s older brother, his perspective would be highly valuable. When we saw him the first time, we saw a piece of him and we tears came down our eyes. We all started crying cuz we thought we were looking at our brother. We couldn’t believe That’s how good he was.

He was so close. Yeah. He was he called me, “I’m a model. Did I do it?” I said, “You did great, Jaafar.” Yeah. And that’s it. I mean, you’re still doing what you do brilliantly. His sons, TJ and Taj, have been vocal advocates for the film, defending it against critical reviews and sharing their pride in Jaafar’s work.

There’s a question real quick that I just want to answer and and it’s just going to be real. I did get to see Ja’far act and dance in that way. When I when I was talking about um him killing it in that um in that aspect of it and I can tell you that we’re in good shape with everything [laughter] in that way.

No, no, no, no worries whatsoever in that way and and and when I say he embodied my uncle with the cadences and all of that was from his acting and and that was pure raw talent cuz I think that was even before he had started studying in that way. And so Jacob Elordi is the actor known for Euphoria, Saltburn, and Priscilla. One of Hollywood’s biggest rising stars right now.

He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live guest hosted by Colman Domingo to promote his new film and the conversation turned to Ja’far Jackson whom Jacob had just met backstage.
